Re: Manhunt for former LA Police Officer
This is from one of the timeline articles, but I recall he does tie it into his grudge with LAPD.

He held a commission as a lieutenant until February 1 and was rated as a rifle marksman and pistol expert, according to the records.

He enrolled in the LAPD Academy in February 2005 and spent four months on the streets as a trainee before being recalled to active duty for his stint in Iraq, police records state. In the end, the LAPD cost him not only his police job but his career in the Navy, he wrote.

Re: Manhunt for former LA Police Officer
so what made him snap after 4 yrs. he was fired in 2008/2009, and he now loses it?

almost wondering (considering still having his badge) if he was still with the PD and undercover.
 Quoting: TeamReaper

He lost his job in the Navy Reserves recently and he pointed the finger of that back at the LAPD.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 33805369

Not sure yet if he 'lost his job' - need to confirm his loss code to determine if it was just the end of his service or if there were other reasons. I would say leaving the Navy had absolutely NOTHING to do with his leaving LAPD which happened what 5 years ago??
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 23200542

Read his manifest, I recall it states it in there.

I read it hours ago so...it's either there or a summary from some media site.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 33805369

Manifesto states after dishonorable firing from LAPD, he lost high level security clearances. Very unceremonious. And he brings up a good point: if he were found guilty at trial, why would LAPD not go after him for a false report?

Oh my gosh. Maybe the city is rampant with fallen angels or demons or something lol...It's the city of angels right? There's something happenin here.....and what it is aint exactly clear....there's an ex-cop with a gun over, and LAPD sayin I better beware....Stop..hey what's that sound? The world is going crazy now.
 Quoting: Sikmisfit

It might be so, but I think all that happened here was a very sensitive guy went Postal because someone called him the N-word. He then shot innocent people, probably evil Crackers or C-words, who represent the C-word system that's offended him. The cops, in response, then also shot some innocent people, also C-words or commonly refered to as Collateral Damage in certain circles. The Sensitive dude will be shot dead soon, their will be a frenzied public 'Investigation' and life will go on. Nothing crazy about it.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1760050

Sounds like A LOT more than just that, way to oversimplify.

..but then again - their. 'Nuff said, really..
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 25778759

and then again - 'way to oversimplify'

Of course it's more than that. The guy was handy with the pen even if his tale was spoiled with self-aggrandizement. With a little polishing he could have caused a world of shit for the LAPD and made himself and the Fam a fortune..not to mention being alive to enjoy it. What a waste of a future Author.

The source of the manifesto cannot be confirmed - the facebook account is only 2 weeks old with no friends, no likes, no comments - why post a manifesto on there - who would see it?

However the Navy records can be confirmed - I saw the records were released earlier today but the paperwork didn't have the loss code on them so don't know the reason for leaving. Might have been normal discharge, might not have been - hard to say until we see the code.

Don't forget the FBI.

A few years ago near Annapolis, Maryland they shot up a young couple in a car looking for a bank robber.

Kid that got shot in his face, got millions in compensation.

FBI agents...still on the job.

And so it goes.

Yep we went over this earlier this morning. The Facebook page was created on January 21st. Last post was on January 31st. No friends, no comments - a bunch of pictures and a bunch of pages he liked - certainly bizarre for a brand new facebook user.

Seems bizarre to me this whole manhunt is based on something that was posted on the internet. Thats it? Thats all they've got? Didn't they chase down the IP address to an actual street address?

They took down the facebook page about 4 hours ago.

Right, well the manifesto is hooky to me, but I guess it depends on who thought of him first to try and tie him to the couple being killed???

People usually run to facebook or other social media to look for X in Y.

I don't recall how they tied that in, it's almost 3am here so I'm barely awake.

But, honestly I'm just really interested in how they spin the outcome, if they push for UAV's and more LEO around the country.
