Re: Manhunt for former LA Police Officer
As a survivalist I'm pretty ceartin that if he is in fact on Big Bear he is dead. There is no way he would be able to survive under cover this long evading police. It would be hard enough to do in the current weather conditions trying to be found!

With this being said, if he is as trained as they claim he is the last thing he would do is go into Big Bear and decrease his chances of survival. The only way I feel he is on that mountain or alive is if he had areas on the mountain that were ready ahead of time. Even then at this point he would require fire ( if outside ) to survive.

IMO he is either dead on Big Bear or was never on Big Bear for an extended period of time after the truck was burnt up.

Talked to someone living up in Big Bear last night and he said they aren't even supposed to leave the house anymore it's on total lockdown. But with them shooting nearly anything hat moves I don't think I would want to leave anyway. He lives about a mile away from where they found the vehicle.

Yeah, it's really cold up there. On the scanner page chatter said it was 2 degrees early this am.

IIRC that first night after his burned out truck was found the storm moved in and they were not able to search with the flir as good as they would of liked.

So how long before all heat leaves a body? Could be frozen anywhere or by luck or plan made it the hell out of there soon after ditching the truck.

They sure are doing a lot of low altitude flying, I guess they must not believe he really has manpads. Though I guess logically, at this point, if he really did have manpads and was bent on killing LEOs, he would have used them by now.

two trucks - truck in video by dumpster has roof racks, same as one burnt in big bear. Truck in front of Las Vegas house does not have roof racks.

Other side of Big Bear, marine base and the back way to Las Vegas -

So he knew the area well, it would seem.

Yesterday, as a task force of 125 officers, some riding Snowcats in the rugged terrain, continued their search, it was revealed that Dorner has become the first human target for remotely-controlled airborne drones on US soil.

A senior police source said: “The thermal imaging cameras the drones use may be our only hope of finding him. On the ground, it’s like looking for a needle in a haystack.”

Asked directly if drones have already been deployed, Riverside Police Chief Sergio Diaz, who is jointly leading the task force, said: “We are using all the tools at our disposal.”

The use of drones was later confirmed by Customs and Border Patrol spokesman Ralph DeSio, who revealed agents have been prepared for Dorner to make a dash for the Mexican border since his rampage began.

He said: “This agency has been at the forefront of domestic use of drones by law enforcement. That’s all I can say at the moment.”

Dorner probably met with an accomplice at big bear and drove off in the accomplice's car.

Or..Dorner hit up a tributary stemming out of the lake, then onto a river which leads to the Pacific ocean all with the help of a motorized speed boat.
