WTF is this "NEMO" now they're naming Snowstorms like Hurricanes

Right? That damned climate change! One of these days we could end up with a super-storm winter that just never goes away!

(That is, if the currents spreading heat around in the oceans and atmosphere and such break down from too much freshwater and whatnot)

Naming Winter Storms is just a wheather channel thing. Makes it easier to sensationalize. I don't believe you find anything like that from the National Whether Service.

Did they ever name winter storms before ?
So this is something new theyre doing

with sandy, the line has blurred. seasons/hurricanes...doesn't matter anymore. now its superstorms 24/7

Didn't a Rothchilds business subsidiary buy out the weather channel and the rights to name storms a couple years ago?

I think its kind of good that they do this because People depend on the GOVT after a disaster

At least try to take care of yourself 48-72 hours before help arrives

Actually,

They are naming storms for Insurance reasons. Most Homeowners
policies do not afford coverage for "Named" storms unless you have specialized coverage.

Check your policy and you will see what I mean.
