5 stars OP! Thank you for sharing.
I am starting to love Firefox more than Chrome now.

I think the main thing that sells me on FF is that it is so open.

They don't try to hide and lock shit on my PC.

I have a very keen emotion of despise for that crap.

Detest may be a better word.

Loathe.

abhor, abominate, be allergic to, be down on, decline, despise, detest, execrate, feel repugnance, find disgusting, hate, have aversion to, have no use for, refuse, reject, repudiate, revolt, spurn

what about Internet Explorer
about:config does nothing

My opinion.

Stop using IE.

I'm telling ya, it's better.

Play around with it for a couple days, I guarantee you will feel better. If for no other reason, you KNOW that you are using a browser that doesn't spy on you

Re: Did you know that your browser is geolocating you? This is how to turn it off for good.
I'm thinking of doing a general computer repair/advice thread to help out with day to day computer issues.

I spend a LOT of time on GLP so I would be able to actively watch the thread for issues people are having. I'm no computer scientist, but I have picked up a few things over time that a lot of people don't really know about.

Let me know what you guys think!

Its a great idea!

Can you share your tips for those of us just starting to use Firefox? I've added on AdBlocker Plus, and did what you recommended in the first post of this thread. Where should we go from there?

Thank you.

I just found your thread. Thanks for all these tips. If you don't mind, I would like some advice.

I just downloaded SRWareIron to use as my browser. I set up a hushmail account and now use DuckDuckGo as my SE.

I don't know if I am tech savvy enough to do all the things you mention plus, truthfully, I don't think we can keep our data from being collected anyway. My intention is not to make it too easy.

I just want away from Google but, I'm not sure what to do about YT. I don't upload videos so I could just go without an account. I don't want to login with my new hushmail account and I want to delete my gmail account. Any suggestions on the best way for me to use YT?

And thank you!!!
