Many years ago - early 90's there was a sink hole on Santa Monica Blvd right about Wilcox street or so ... I lived right above it and use to walk down to see it while it was shut down.

Anyway, the culprit? They were tunneling under the city to install a subway - a failed taxpayers plan ... that never happened. I think they completed a couple hundred yards or so before abandoning the idea.

Smart in earthquake country, huh?

My bet is this is around the same location and once abandoned they never properly secured the area which means with time the earth has moved and it's starting to sink again.

Look it up - LA sink hole - Santa Monica Blvd. around the early 90's - Then look at how much this stupid idea cost tax payers ...
