My take on the 'girlf flips off judge....
Did anyone pay attention to the judge's behavior and words? First off the girl presented with a serious albeit nervous appearance. The judge reads (attempts to read anyway), the charges and mispronounces Xanax and can't even read 'bars'. He has to be corrected and sort of laughs it off to avoid the feeling of ridiculed for having to be informed by (I'm assuming), the public defender. The judge subsequently tells her to be serious, but in that same sentence he makes an inappropriate comment saying they're not in a club. That was offensive as far as I'm concerned. He should have said this is a courtroom. She apologized saying he made her laugh and he said "it's alright" and laughed himself. If he wanted seriousness and respect, respect is a two way street. Hell even the court clerk doesn't address the judge in an appropriate way. I could care less if it was his wife. I can't make out exactly what she says, but almost sounds like "no Jackson" or "no Jack said" . Someone want to weigh in on that?. Whatever she says she certainly doesn't say 'no judge...' or 'no your honor..'. The whole proceeding was not serious and lacked propriety. That's on the judge who majorly failed IMO.

He showed no respect for her as a person - guilty or not, even insinuating she was on drugs. He then after setting bail mockingly says 'bye bye' instead of telling the bailiff / sheriff, to remove her (as the matter was over), or tell her you may go since bail had been set, or anything more appropriate than an arrogant mocking "bye bye". The judge (and I use the term lightly), was a total ass and essentially set her up taking advantage of her immaturity IMO. He in effect encouraged her behavior. Check the follow up hearing with a different judge. That judge had proper control of his courtroom and the entire proceeding.

Lots of people weighing in on this-close to 4.4 million views.

You do realize that American Judges dawn that black cape because it is used by FreeMasons & Rosicrucians in occult ceremonies?

So when you go in front of one of these assholes they are essentially 'sacrificing' you to their GOD of destruction.

Wouldn't doubt it, but on a more basic level, the judge was just a total idiot undeserving of authority to be judging anything affecting the lives of others if he can't keep his emotions in check. WAY too much of this in the U.S. Judges have way too much authority. I got screwed by a judge on a lawsuit to try to recover money from a loan for bail money lent to a friend and the judge came in obviously drunk and was late. No apologies for being late either..

Won't go into details about how I got screwed out of my loan money, but she sometime later had to resign as she was found to have been living for free (or minimal rent),in a house that was for low income persons (government subsidized housing), while making over $200K a year! She also admitted to having a gambling addiction during her hearing over the housing issue.

9teen Yeah and I've never been able to understand why a person who could well be innocent should be made to appear in court in jail garb and have their image plastered all over the internet and local papers.

Yeah, right after he mockingly says "bye bye". That's why she was shocked at the additional 5,000.00. She probably thought he was going to give her a break or something since he was sort of smiling / laughing when he called her back. I fact since he had already made his ruling, he should not have been able to change the bond just for that "adios".

He was sending all the wrong messages if he wanted seriousness out of her. It was his total fail in this hearing and she got screwed.

Well she had been arrested obviously, and sometimes due to some hearings being held quickly after arrest, they bring you from the jail right to the courtroom especially if they have sufficient evidence to continue to keep you in jail until you're released on bail which was what the hearing was for and to assign a public defender if she qualified. He sure shot that down quick. At least she was honest throughout on anything they asked her. It just ended up costing her for her honesty and immaturity.

Right after he raised the bail to $10,000 and she is "shocked" what does he say to her? Yes, that is correct, "adios" and in a very flippant and sarcastic manner. Bottom line, he is a bully in a black robe.

In most cases the person standing accused has the right to change first, and in most circumstances their faces can't be used in the papers or in other media, without a signed waiver.

Of course you have to have a good lawyer to get you time to change clothing and be intelligent enough not to sign anything you don't have to. Some locations have different rules but I believe that's standard operating procedure in most U.S. courts. They don't bend over backward for you, but there are some things in place to allow a person to maintain dignity.

Re: My take on the 'girlf flips off judge....
She was high as hell.

She needs help but also needs a lesson on how to respect herself and cope in the world without the use of drugs and resorting to actions that can and will get her in jail.

Sometimes people know that others need to hit rock bottom in order to get better.

If she was any better, she would've known to act better and with respect in front of any judge, no matter what the judge said or how they acted. It's your responsibility to get yourself out of the consequences you put yourself in and she damn well knew she was high and so did the judge.

At that point, she was already going downhill.

She needs jail, then rehab. Rehab first to be honest, but it's her lack of boundaries that got her to jail and she looks like she needs a very hard rock bottom to come back up.

Just the way it is.

Not sure why all the above got posted in a previous reply, but I only wanted to answer that they make a lot of money from fines and court costs. I was trying to remove most of the above and just quote your question by itself, so I probably screwed up the quoted part by deleting parts.

Anyway,

I have to agree with you Aunty Flo. I felt like the way she avoided the question of how much her jewelry was worth is what got the whole thing started. It was more like she was trying to impress him with the fact she a lot of expensive jewelry.
She didn't understand in the slightest the reason he was asking that question was to see if the taxpayers would be footing the bill for her defense because she was indigent. He said right after she spouted off about her expensive jewelry that she could sell that jewelry to pay for her defense. She was not taking him seriously and he knew that. She was more in a state of bragging than anything else.

Some of understand that when you go in front of a judge you don't play with your hair and beat around the bush about your assets. You answer the questions and you do it honestly. She is obviously not one of those people.
