It comes from a local tree which has a very astringent oil, a little like eucalyptus.
If you're buying it from outside NZ make sure it isn't fake,
Some companies are selling crap under a false label.

yes source youre honey from local beekeepers, alot of fake honey, most in the supermarket is fake i read somewhere, never ever buy honey syrup, manuka is expensive but well worth it, wonder if the researcher will look at silver, but thats probably old fashioned, raw local honey unpasteurized is fantastic, china is the source of fake honey, bastards
