A stranger talked to me.
I am mostly a loner but always make a point of saying hello or at least nod and smile to strangers when walking to do errands or for exercise.

Tis rare to see other people walking so it just feels good to acknowldege them.

However most of the time I get ignored or a wide eyed look.

Today, though, before I had the chance to greet a passing stranger, he greeted me! Oh shock! We immediately hit it off just chatting as we walked two blocks together and then he said his name, shaked my hand, and said he was turning here.

Well I was too. Found out we live kittycorner across the street from eachother. (I just moved here a little over two months ago)

He said come by to have coffee and chat if you want. Innocent enough right?

Do I go knock on his door?

People have resoundedly taken advantage of me and thus have not looked for friends for almost 3 years now. Alas have been lonely and bored, but mentally and emotionally stable.

Should I go for it?

Or stay comfortable in my loneliness and not be taken for a horror ride again?

Have sex with him for cash
For every negativity, create two positives!

~For wolf and moon

Part of a pack one wolf chose to leave
A life like his dreams this wolf chose to weave

On his own in the dark the wolf could not see
Nobody was telling him what to believe

When he questioned what truly made him free
It was always the moonlight guiding thee

The sheep may one day find, there was always a wolf inside.

The coffee could have date rape drugs in it.

hiding

Sounds harmless enough really, but I used to have a rule about making sure all of my friends lived at least two blocks away so I wouldn't have to see them every day if things got weird.

I never did manage to follow my rule.
Sometimes it went well.
When one of my neighbors tried to set me up with a church going Christian it just got fucking weird.

It's always good to make friends with the neighbors. In fact it's best if you are all friends. WTF planet are you people from?

Re: A stranger talked to me.
I do not live alone, have 3 roommates in a house. Murder/rape is not really what I was worried about.

More of, meeting a person walking and strikes up a convo with you is okay compared to meeting someone at work, a club, friend of a friend, etc.

Re: A stranger talked to me.
Hmmm, I heard it is nice in Mexico, the friendliness and all. But where I live, being friendly often labels you as
Sucker.

Hence, why I have not persued any kind of relationship in a while. Roommates are just that, roommates. We watch each others back but are not really friends.

My question really is, is it worth it after spending the time to heal from "frenemies" is it worth it to try again to find a true friend? Or just continue the path of solitude.
