Whoever was working on the "Mars Rover" set in the government studio on the day that shot was taken accidentally left it there. He probably had been forming the "Martian hills" or maybe moving around the "Martian rocks" with it a few minutes earlier.

That clearly is the top of a building buried with thousands of years of dirt/sand/rock. If you do a search for lightening rods you will find sonething that resembles it. We all are decendents from Mars.

How many probes have been sent there that failed. If it is metallic is is most likely a bit of space junk with earthly origins?

What are the chances that that thing was formed by natural causes. Then what are the chances of that tin can coming accross it by accident. Fuck the place must littered with that sort of shit if that was just a chance event.
