Do most Canadians think folks from the USA are arrogant, belligerent, ignorant assholes?

Most Americans I have met are just normal everyday folks looking to get along in life like the rest of us.

Your every day american on the street is of all kinds, some are total douches, some aren't.

This one time here in my city, some american came up to me asking for some change, acting like the fact that he said he was an american would automatically mean I should help him out, in a tone of voice as if he thought he was owed that kind of respect. I shrugged and walked away.

Hey dude can I borrow some change? Oh yeah, i'm an American so uhh...

This other time I was in Ohio and got stuck there with no way back, and this american lady I knew from a chat room in Indiana drove over, picked me up, and let me crash at her country home for almost month, giving me time to arranged a way to get home..

Those two examples are good examples of how there are all types of people in all places heh

Hey, I was married to a French Canadian for thirteen years and all I can say is he was a damn good liar and his dick was tiny. BUT, I think that if the French was taken out of the equation, he might have been a good guy.

Only on vacation (or on the lam) here. My extensive travels through the US were delightful as were all the people I met.

Speaking for myself, no. There are a lot of decent Americans I have met, be it in the US, or overseas. I am not too crazy about this whole anti American thing we have had going on here for quite some time, fostered by the left wing crew here. ( Always stirring up crap, in every country they arise).

I am sure some of you would give people the shirt off of your back. Some of you would also gladly lat down your life for others.In the grand scheme of races, you are near the top for me.

I was reading the comments section in a local Toronto paper a few days ago, and some guy was going on about " If you are an adult, and eating pizza, for god's sake use a knife and fork and stop acting like a savage". He was dead serious as well.

There are the pros and cons of being an American.

-Sorry to offend, but I would have to say that Americans are loud mouths.... and they feel superior to all other citizens of the world's many countries.
-More people got murdered in Metro Chicago in the month of January that got murdered in Metro Toronto over the last 5 years.
-If you find a group of Americans outside of the USA you will quickly see they all start talking/bragging about their particular city or State... not their country as a whole.

-Honestly, many Americans are kinda just stupid. However, they seem to be pretty street smart.
-Americans are some of the most friendliest people I have ever met.
-Americans don't like to make fun of themselves. They would rather make fun of others.
-All in all, Americans are cool and I am glad you Americans are my neighbor. You are like family to us Canadians. Family is family whether you get along with them or not. When it comes down to the crunch....we both will watch each others back.

And you probably still be-LIE-ve you are the freest people on the planet...except of course for the largest prison population anywhere...Luckily I did most of my traveling outside of large population centers and met mostly intelligent rednecks who saw the larger picture. I stopped going after Waco. Not only incarcerated but incinerated. Nice.

When is America gonna create a band as epic as Rush!?

Canadians looking for that missing person in their 17th, 18th and early 19th century family tree, and Americans looking for the same, may only need to look to the other country to find them.

Here in the States, people tend to think that first we had Plymouth Rock or Jamestown, then Colonial days leading to the Revolution, the Louisiana Purchase, then westward expansion...at each turn newly settling areas where no one live before.

What most do not know is that our Canadian brothers --yes...in many cases brothers, uncles, fathers and cousins--lived in areas still not defined by distinct borders. There are magnificent homes in our northern states which were built well before we broke with Britan, on what is now considered American soil.

The bottom line is, genetically speaking, we are not at all different.

The same goes for all of Europe, and so on.

If we look beyond borders to see our common roots, the only differences we truly have has everything to do with old political affinities that few of us know much about.

Time may have caused a disconnect, but, our blood is hugely the same.

I think so as well.

Canada is just another US state although they don't like being told that. But they are. I like Canadians - as long as they get rid of the chip off their shoulder about being one of our states.

Comment above might be why some Canadians have that attitude.

When the Olympics were in Vancouver, some American press went on about our huge inferiority complex. At first I was shocked and then I thought it was funny. I think allot of Americans think we are jealous of the US, wished we were more like them. No, most Canadians like being who they are nationally speaking.I find allot of Canadians belligerent idiots who have ton of preconceived notions about US people, same on your side. The poster who said the mostly never thought about us was probably spot on. We tend to know more about your country than you about ours, because we see all of your media and culture, and you see relatively little of ours. This bullshit about us being another state though we don't know is is truer today than 15 years ago, but its still bullshit. Bottom line you guys are raised tooting your own horn about being the greatest country on earth constantly all the time. Canadians less so, although there are plenty of those type here.
