Re: Do most Canadians think folks from the USA are arrogant, belligerent, ignorant assholes?
seemingly most here dont realize that Cascadians are already a separate culture. Alaska, BC, Washington, Oregon and Northern Cali are fleeing from the rest of ya and good riddance. Some of ya are still complaining about Acadians or thinking America has 'a culture' or that speaking about 'Americans' makes sense.

It does not anymore.

On here, the left coast (according to the map not political persuasion) we want hemp in ALL its forms removed from any governments interference. Out here we look at people as individuals not 'Americans' (whatever the fuck that means) or 'Canadians' (whatever the fuck that means). Labels with crappy glue dont stick.

Ya'll stay on your side of the Rockies and we will stay on ours. I'm sick of both Ottawa and Washington myself and so are most of the people I know.

I will state that most Cascadians know that 'America' is actually a bunch of balkanized states whose individual power is slowly being eroded by a supposed central power based out of swamp land in DC. I will state that most Cascadians know that Canada is going through the same thing.

I'm lucky enough to be a freedom fighter for cannabis who is no longer 'welcome' n the US AND to have the perspective I have gained through the fight. My friend Marc Emery is rotting in one of your jails for his supposed sin against the USE (United States Empire).

The whole rotten truth of the whole matter is, we are siamese twins joined at birth through the rotten corpse of a mother known as Britain. We BOTH have issues stemming through a few hundred years of being fucked over and harassed by our bitch of a mama. Get over it.

It matters little about perceiving groups anymore. Can you trust your neighbour to have your back? I've got yours America, to the best of my ability and with the utmost of gusto. If shit goes 'south' there...which it will b4 it does here...I'll be there smuggling food, doing what I can accross the border to make it better.

The ugly truth is...Canada matters to Canadians. The US is the last bastion of gun culture (we have about the same per capita I think) that hu-mans need in order to deflect whats coming down the pipe. If America and all in her fold falls, the West is doomed all around.

Get over it. Canucks have their/our role to play. Americans have their rrole to play, and the game is afoot. Stop the BS about us and them. There is an 'us and them'...but its NOT Canucks vs Americans.

Let me rate THEM: BRITS & AUSSIES tied for first place for being total CUNTS (as they LOVE to say)

Canadians in second place, for being SECOND MOST CUNTY.

THEN, in another tie, we have Germans, and in a strange new entry, the SWEDES....

HOW IS THAT?????

I would have to agree with that. Make a big circle, WA, OR, BC a totally separate culture altogether. All the same in that corner.

Cascadians may perceive themselves as a separate culture but more likely that is a drug induced hallucination. You sound like one of those republic of texas jokers. As long as there is a strong central government you will never succeed in a separatist movement. For example, the last time a section of the country thought it had a separate culture and identity and attempted to separate itself, there was a long and bloody war and reconstruction (complete destruction) from which the region did not fully recover even 150 years plus later. As for your comment on the Acadians, at least they have a real culture and language of their own, not some made up hemp culture.

~Thomas Jefferson

"Prohibition... goes beyond the bounds of reason in that it attempts to control mans' appetite through legislation and makes a crime out of things that are not even crimes... A prohibition law strikes a blow at the very principles upon which our Government was founded"
~President Abraham Lincoln (December 1840) Technically not a founding father.

"We shall, by and by, want a world of hemp more for our own consumption."
~John Adams

"The greatest service which can be rendered any country is the add a useful plant to its culture!"
~Thomas Jefferson

"Society is produced by our wants, and government by wickedness; the former promotes our happiness positively by uniting our affections, the latter negatively by restraining our vices."
-Thomas Paine, Common Sense, 1776

"Some of my finest hours have been spent on my back veranda smoking hemp and observing as far as my eye can see."
-Thomas Jefferson

The South was pretty much on its own during your Northern War of Aggression...and as far as 'made up hemp culture' goes...

So go back to your debt and death paradigm and we shall see what we shall see. You can have your plastic rash junk culture and whack off to some xbox thing. I'll play with plants and we will see whom steps into tomorrow with the most dignity.

Oddly enough, my name which I can't fully type here 'Khoklow Cog-Kweah' loosely translated from the Coast Salish (Indian for someone as dense as you seem to be) is 'Rooster Cogbourn'. The one eyed, drunk marshal whom John Wayne plays. So I'll keep my dream of Cascadia and you can stay on your fucking side of the mountains. Traversing them and meeting me would be unpleasant.

And the Acadians can go back to the european pit from whence they spawned.

Oh and I lived in the US for a while for work and didn't like it because the food quality was poor (I'm really picky about food and the meat was especially awful, even at the expensive groceries) and also I had to pay through the nose for really shitty healthcare (Aetna) that was so bad I'd just save my appointments for when I'd come back and visit Canada.

I thought I'd like it better cause of the weather but that's because I thought it was much more like Canada than it really is.

also us banks... Suck. Why am I filling out paper deposit slips like its the 1980s, and wtf us with the bullet proof glass in front if the teller. Now I feel like I should be back there. Who wants to be on the wrong side of bullet proof glass?

Not sure what point you are trying to make with all those random quotations that you can't say with your own words. I've already been to your wondrous cascadia as you call it, having lived in Washington for five years. I'm confident in my plant growing skills as I am an avid gardener. Your pathetic insults have no effect on me. I don't know what your problem with the Cajuns is other than they are not the same race as you. You seem to be a very intolerant person.

Nope...I'm Irish/German/Moorish and Canuck. I did learn how to make friends with my neighbours (Sechelt). Thats the important part. I've never met a non-idealogue I've had a problem with. Only those folks who can't see beyond their self-imposed veils of idiocracy merit my attention when it comes to neighbourly relations.

I do have the ability to see from many perspectives though. The Acadian arguement is kaput in the face of Indian decimation. The historical divide between North and South throughout the continent, country wide is kaput and so is the Canuck vs US arguement. The differences are miniscule when viewed and experienced in a regional context but look massive from a centralized governmint (sic).

I'm a byproduct of several river basins. I'm not a product of centralized programmers. But if you want to hold onto the myth of a 'America' or a 'Canada'...go for it. If your a Floridian when the dollar implodes...who ya gonna turn to? An Oregonian or a Texan? I've placed my bets on the aware in the States and Provinces that surround me.

Call them Alaska, BC, Washington, Oregon and Northern Cali or Coast salish or whatever...I'm doing my best to befriend them all. I suggest we all do the same.

So I will still stay with my original post that 'Americans' are not belligerent assholes because there is no such thing as an American. And most of the Americans I have met are rather intelligent perhaps because they ARE 'Oregonians', 'Indianans', Ohioans' etc. You do have a 10th ammendment right or something do you not for States rights?

You will soo have an ammendment for Indian rights.

It's difficult for me to understand the mystical manner of your speach. I am accustomed to a more direct manner. I hear you saying that to maximize our survivability probability in a soon to arrive SHTF scenario, we will need to rely on our neighbors and be able to grow plants. You are saying the exile of the acadians from canada is irrelevant in the face of indian decimation. By that logic, you could ignore the plight of the indian when considering the holocaust of the european jews. Each is its own disaster of greater or lesser degree. Anyway, I thnk you make some good points but I don't agree with all of them.

Canadians looking for that missing person in their 17th, 18th and early 19th century family tree, and Americans looking for the same, may only need to look to the other country to find them.

Here in the States, people tend to think that first we had Plymouth Rock or Jamestown, then Colonial days leading to the Revolution, the Louisiana Purchase, then westward expansion...at each turn newly settling areas where no one live before.

What most do not know is that our Canadian brothers --yes...in many cases brothers, uncles, fathers and cousins--lived in areas still not defined by distinct borders. There are magnificent homes in our northern states which were built well before we broke with Britan, on what is now considered American soil.

The bottom line is, genetically speaking, we are not at all different.

The same goes for all of Europe, and so on.

If we look beyond borders to see our common roots, the only differences we truly have has everything to do with old political affinities that few of us know much about.

Time may have caused a disconnect, but, our blood is hugely the same.

I've always seen Americans as pretty much the same. Think about it we all have the same common ancestry.

This is exactly what I have found in my own family research.

And, when the loyalists did not go north, they had a vast number of islands offshore to remove to. The areas around the Great Lakes have many such families on both sides of the border, many that have never even considered this possibility.

I never hear a Canadian speak a word against his own people or government. What they do is complain endlessly about Americans. It is PRIDE and where there is pride there will be a violent people.

Maybe, but most Americans don't think about Canadians at all.

What's worse - being hated or being so completely ignored that the ignorer isn't even aware they're ignoring you?

Some say there's no such thing as bad publicity...

As a Canadian living in Florida for the last 17 years, I can tell you I prefer America, hands down! Most Canadian's look at American's as war mongers with too many guns, I dont though, the more the better is my opinion. Personally I love the everything about the US, everything but the politics that is! The weather sucks in Canada. The property taxes are way too high and so are the food prices. Forget about buying cigarettes or beer they r very expensive in Canada and a crappy house costs 250k.
