Jerry Garcia? A shitty Guitar player really? Yeah That's why he toured extensively for 30 years almost always selling out immediately. Yeah all those fans must have been there for kool aid right? You know what I've listened to the dead for many years and think what people don't get is that this group was not trying to be like the other rock bands' "sound" of that time. They were not the stones or the beatles or the doors. They made what they liked and and didn't care about sticking to a certain formula to sell records. They played jazz, bluegrass, country, blues, Reggae, and Folk infused rock. Jerry was one the most soulful players I've ever heard. The music does not all sound the same either. This argument is baseless too. They have so many influences of other kinds of music in their songs. I named just a few of them above. Anyway I'm off topic but Jerry was a talented musician. That is a fact. whether you like it or not is another story.
