Re: Watch: Greeks Fight For Food: “I Never Imagined That I Would End Up Here”
I'm a bit disappointed in the Greeks not revolting hard enough against this, what are they waiting for? They could go to their Parliament in thousands and sit there stopping their corrupt politicians to go outside...

Now they accepting to live like zombies still trusting their parties that they'll fix the problem.

Leonidas wouldn't accept this humiliation.

You have no idea what I know or don't know. Where I am or what I do. What are you one of their paid party shills trying to drum up sympathy?
There are real starving suffering people in the world like I said check out North Korea. Those people are really starving. There's no hiding that. Their certainly not running around with huge fat bellies like the Greeks.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 5728345

You sure sound more of a certified shill than me from what you posted so far, not looking for sympathy here could care less, just stating the obvious that lot of people are owed money that they've worked for including meself. Off course more people are hungry in N.Korea, but this doesn't change the fact that the lowest part of social web is having problems in Greece too, for the rich life goes as normal, but the non-rich are having problems paying bills, i think you shill way too much tbh.
 Quoting: insertfunnyusername

Everything I've stated is a fact that can easily be verified with a quick Google search. You just can't stand it that someone speaks the truth and has an opposing view. Yesterday you even said something to me along the line of "well you just can't be Greek" as if all Greeks are little clones of each other with the same point of view. In your crazy mind, no Greek born and raised here would speak like me. Well let me tell you, there's lot's of Greeks that feel the same way I do. As a matter of fact many of them have been seen on National tv saying they're ashamed to be Greek. There are many who are appalled and outraged at the behavior of our fellow country men . It's dragging us down, destroying our chances for any sort of progress and ruining our children's future. I for one am sick of it. I will continue to speak the truth. You just carry on with your little woe is me and keep sticking your hand out and living off of the backs of others....have a feeling that won't work out too well for future generations.....
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 5728345

Facts my arse, if your version of the truth is that is everything ok and people can cope quite well in this country, yeah, you've no idea what you're talking about obviously, it's a fact that people are having trouble paying bills and that they're owed money, it's a fact that that the low class is facing problems, i live it everyday, dunno with who you hang out but they're probably are in a better shape than the people i know. It's quite evident you're not Greek by the hateful comments today and yesterday too and by the way you were crying "you agreed to legalize all these immigrants, you Greeks cheat" lmao, so don't try to spin it with our fellow countrymen BS today, don't embarrass yourself, you're a paid shill for all i care.
 Quoting: insertfunnyusername

Like I said everything I've stated can be verified by a quick google search. In many cases I've provided links. The facts you state cannot be verified. Just some people claiming they're having trouble paying bills while most can be seen to be grossly overweight if not outright obese. It's also a fact that Greece in order to enter the EU signed agreements to accept the immigrants into the country. My pointing that out in no way brings into question the validity of my nationality. It is ignorant to suggest that it does. My nationality is actually also completely IRRELEVANT to the issues discussed and it is quite strange that you continue to pry for personal bits of info. It is well known that people should not give out identifying information on the Internet. Something very shady about you constantly focusing on the issue of my personal nationality rather than the issues and the facts. IMO you're not Greek. Certainly haven't lived all your life in Greece. Key words used can very often give away little hints at nationality and whether someone is using their native language. Keep spinning that party propaganda sellout.

Firstly, i'm not the one who kept asking for your nationality yesterday, i have that this worked it out so i really don't give a fudge to ask, you're the one who brought it up today in the first place. As for me not being Greek, will that do?

It's rude to post in a language not all will understand where most are posting in English
Yourvbeing able to post a few sentences in Greeklish in no way verifies that you are actually Greek. I never made any mention of hatred for my Sinanthropous. My point of view and my opinions never once stated hatred. Actually I want more for Greece and it's peoplevthan you probably ever will. Those were assumptions you and the other poster jumped to based on my statement of the facts. Your resorting to the of vulgarities and profanity , again I have to point out just another indicator of the abusive proclivities a large percentage of the population has. Yet another embarrassment. Unnecessary , does not make you cool or give validity to your statements. On the contrary it detracts from any point you may be trying to make. Usually a tactic used by people with a low IQ who have difficulty with problem solving skills and low frustration points. They need to resort to abuse to resolve their issues as they cannot use logic. I 'm guessing you never made the debate team. cool2

I bet you can't. SHTF your dream come true. Much better to sit around posting on GLP hoping for that and pushing that agenda than to take a realistic look at the issues and problems ,come to realistic assessment of the situation and start working on logical solutions to the problems . Soooo much better. I find it very interesting that with all that starving and overwhelming finanancial difficulty you're going through that has necessitated billions of dollars of bailout funds being handed out that you have time to sit around post on forums, own a computer and can afford internet access. Most people would be spending every second available working on digging themselves out of that hole. Most would not be able to afford the luxury of a computer and the associated costs. As a matter of fact I know someone who is going through a difficult time of it in another country ....3 kids a mortgage payment due every month and property taxes through the roof. They can't afford Internet access. One of the things they had to cut back on. See ya' around.

They had a very good and sustainable way of life. "Lazy" is not the correct word for a people who LIVE WITHIN THEIT FUCKING MEANS and refuse to destroy the soil and ecosystem by pumping in billions of dollars is "investment" (which means "time-bomb") and nuclear waste, pesticides, pollution, sludge, etc.

They were FORCED into taking absurd loans from the EU to "improve the infrastructure" when the real plan - at the top - was to destroy this last bastion of sensible living.

Get the facts straight, sheeple.

Forced? rofl never heard of any country being forced into the EU. You must have one very strange definition of the word force. The terms and conditions of joining the EU and were clearly spelled out before anything was signed.

Sustainable way of life?.. Greece has always had these problems. The drachma had to be revalued so many times it'd make your head spin. Greece has a long history of corruption and mismanagement. No one else caused these problems for them. As a matter of fact their history was one of the primary reasons they should never have entered theEU to begin with. In the past they had always just revalued the currency to keep the ball rolling. With the euro as a currency that would not be an option for them. If you know you have a drinking problem, don't go into the bar.

[link to en.wikipedia.org]

Third modern drachma
In 1953, in an effort to halt inflation, Greece joined the Bretton Woods system. In 1954, the drachma was revalued at a rate of 1000 to 1. The new currency was pegged at 30 drachmae = 1 United States dollar. In 1973, the Bretton Woods System was abolished; over the next 25 years the official exchange rate gradually declined, reaching 400 drachmae to 1 U. S. dollar. On 1 January 2002, the Greek drachma was officially replaced as the circulating currency by the euro, and it has not been legal tender since 1 March 2002.
