Anonymous Coward User ID: 29013698 United States 02/08/2013 06:54 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Hey I used to live in Maine so I know how fucking cold it can get up there. I still don't feel sorry for those who think the city govt or the county or the state should take care of you. You need to look out for yourselves. anyone who doesn't is asking for trouble. Quoting: hawk8414 Maine-iac! That's why I live in Vermont and not Connecticut or New York. And why I'm not a Mass-hole. All Vermont schools are closed - three-day weekend for the kiddos! I've still got to work, but fortunately, I can walk to work! I went to school in Unity ME.. I use to work all over Vermont. From Dorset all the way to St. Albans. What a very nice state. Here is my local report for today along lake Ontario. 6 -12 inches here today into tonight. Nothing major here. But the problems I see for the coast is going to be unprecidented. It has already started in Central Park.. It cost over 1 Million Dollars an inch for NYC to plow.. I think there is going to be more financial implications coming our way when this is done. I also hope people realize this is going to be heavy packing snow. Please be careful when removing it. Many people get hurt or die from the exertion. Make sure if you have to travel tonight. Bring a emergency prep kit. Blankets, food, water, fully charged cell, full tank of gas, flash light, emergency radio, flares... Please everyone ... BE SAFE... |

Now you are two days in front of them again with this event. Sometimes I am away from a computer for several days, but still have access to e-mail. I'm hoping you can set up a dedicated e-mail account to enable you to let us know when you post something, so we can stay ahead of the curve. Thanks for your contributions, they are literally life-saving. |

Aristide Torchia User ID: 29901291 Switzerland 02/08/2013 07:18 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I'm in Nova Scotia. They're calling for a "weather bomb" here tonight. A storm from the east and the storm down in NE usa will delightfully meet up and apparently give us a blizzard to remember. Quoting: Raveninns oh joy Wish I was there to witness that, lucky you Cheers Torchia was born in 1620. He was apprenticed in Leyden under the Elzevir family. After returning to Venice he published small works on philosophical and esoteric themes. In 1666, Torchia published De Umbrarum Regni Novem Portis (The Nine Doors to the Kingdom of Shadows), which was in turn based on the Delomelanicon, or Invocation of Darkness, a work supposedly written by Lucifer and that would allow the reader to summon devils. The Inquisition condemned Torchia for magic and witchcraft and burned him at the stake in 1667. |

Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 33926122 Portugal 02/08/2013 07:20 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Blizzard conditions were expected in the Boston area westward to the Pioneer Valley as well as in all of Connecticut, including nearby Litchfield County. Travel in much of the region is likely to be virtually impossible, according to AccuWeather.com forecasters, who warn of gale-force winds whipping the snow into deep drifts and creating whiteouts on major highways as well as secondary roads. At the National Weather Service in Taunton, near Boston, forecaster Benjamin Sipprell described the oncoming storm as "posing threats to life and property." The NWS issued rare, official blizzard warnings for eastern and southeastern Massachusetts, all of Connecticut, and Rhode Island, with storms totals that could jump into the top 10 heaviest snowfalls for Boston, Worcester, Hartford, Providence and other cities. The region could see 2 to 3 feet of snow, with drifts up to 5 feet caused by blowing and drifting. |
