967 mb Major Nor'easter!!! HISTORIC BLIZZARD!!! 4 deaths...

I went to school in Unity ME.. I use to work all over Vermont. From Dorset all the way to St. Albans. What a very nice state.

Here is my local report for today along lake Ontario. 6 -12 inches here today into tonight. Nothing major here. But the problems I see for the coast is going to be unprecidented. It has already started in Central Park.. It cost over 1 Million Dollars an inch for NYC to plow.. I think there is going to be more financial implications coming our way when this is done.

I also hope people realize this is going to be heavy packing snow. Please be careful when removing it. Many people get hurt or die from the exertion.

Make sure if you have to travel tonight. Bring a emergency prep kit. Blankets, food, water, fully charged cell, full tank of gas,flash light, emergency radio, flares...

Looks like much of the area is over to rain already, but some snow still lined up over western suburbs. Temps largely above freezing.

what worries me about the NYC area..alot of folks commute to work in NYC from Long Island and new Jersey..they get up, see a few snowflakes, ok they drive to work in the city..with this storm they may not be able to make it back home this evening and are stranded in the city...if i was still up there today..I'd be calling in sick lol..

School's cancelled, I'm off for Feb. break next week, and I'm getting the hell out of dodge (Conn.) and heading to VT to ski for the next 2 days. These winds freak me out. Last time our power was out 10 days. If it gets really bad I don't have to come back til it's better!

I'm in Nova Scotia. They're calling for a "weather bomb" here tonight. A storm from the lakes and the storm down in NE usa will delightfully meet up and apparently give us a blizzard to remember.

Blizzard conditions were expected in the Boston area westward to the Pioneer Valley as well as in all of Connecticut, including nearby Litchfield County. Travel in much of the region is likely to be virtually impossible, according to AccuWeather.com forecasters, who warn of gale-force winds whipping the snow into deep drifts and creating whiteouts on major highways as well as secondary roads.

At the National Weather Service in Taunton, near Boston, forecaster Benjamin Sipprell described the oncoming storm as "posing threats to life and property." The NWS issued rare, official blizzard warnings for eastern and southeastern Massachusetts, all of Connecticut, and Rhode Island, with storms totals that could jump into the top 10 heaviest snowfalls for Boston, Worcester, Hartford, Providence and other cities. The region could see 2 to 3 feet of snow, with drifts up to 5 feet caused by blowing and drifting.
