TAUNTON — Massachusetts residents are waking up to at least two feet of snow in some communities, and more snow keeps falling. National Grid reports around 161,000 homes and businesses were without power around 8 a.m. Saturday. That’s down from more than 300,000 overnight. In Quincy, Fire Deputy Gary Smith says power is out in most of the city. One neighborhood was evacuated Friday night, and another is being evacuated Saturday morning because of flooding concerns. Smith says about a dozen people are in a shelter set up at Quincy High School. Boston and much of eastern Massachusetts are under a blizzard warning until 1 p.m. Saturday. A flood warning was in effect until noon Saturday for the state’s east-facing coastline, with the worst conditions expected Saturday morning.
