Furthermore, I am not a scientist nor did I ever claim to be one, unlike economists of course, who are totally absorbed in a world of fiction and government bullshit lies whilst simultaneously claiming that economics is science when it ain't. Economics = vodoo bullshit number massaging government sanctioned lies. Economists = Educated fools / useful idiots. But a pee aitch dee (in economics) will kind of blind you to the truth, won't it? The simple fact that you are the only one (until now anyway) that is against my theory (calling me an idiot does that) doesn't tell you something? My net advantage over MOST economists is that I had the luck (if you call it that way) to learn economics under commies AND under capitalists. Not to mention that the fact that I am here, on GLP, is still above most economists, and I am ssomehow here not because I WANT the truth, but becasue I KNOW the turth. My nature is to doubt everything the gov. say, it is because I lived under commies. As an economist, I managed to UNDERSTAND many things that most people cannot grasp. Pls don't make me to prove to you.I don't have the will, the time and surely nobody here want that. Stick to the thread and quit the attacks against a person you don't know. Quoting: Old Coot Any thoughts exactly on how it is going to actually go down? Actually, there is no cause and effect relationship in his writing. Saying that the world is going to collapse because of population increases and workers moving from country to country is meaningless. Consider that the United States has a Service Sector driven economy. It is growing millions of jobs under Obama. The US is still the leading manufacturing country in the world, but the majority of people are working in services, not manufacturing. Those services need to be done, so there is a guarantee of future employment. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 16674316 United States 02/08/2013 08:54 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It is impossible to tell who will go down first, triggering world wide economic meltdown. Quoting: recollector It can be US, it can be Europe, it can be Japan. As of last year, the official economic policy of US, EU, Japan, Brazil, Russia, China and a bunck more countries (but less important) is to devalu their currency in order to stimulate the exports. It is obvious that when 90% or the world markets are doind the same curency devaluation, it is not going to work. Nothing but lies about the United States. The American Currency, commonly called the Dollar, has steadily increased in value opposite the world currencies. China has consistently tied the Yuan to the Dollar to provide a steady base price for exports. By so doing, China has made the American Dollar the dominant world currency. Since there is not enough gold in the world to back the Chinese Yuan, much less any other country, the Chinese have done the next best thing and that is to tie the Yuan to the Dollar. |

There is no cause and effect relationship in his writing. It is just rambling with no logical conclusions. Remember this is not a manufacturing dominant economy and he does not explain how the jobs are all of a sudden going to disappear. Bullshit. Companies left because unions drove wages UP. The people left behind were retrained and most earned more than they ever did. Hence the economic boom from Reagan through Bush 43, driven by high tech companies and silicon valley. However, Democrats, ever seeking new voters, threw open the immigration floodgates and inundated the US with indigent immigrants who overwhelmed the social safety net, forcing the government to borrow money to finance it. At the same time, those same Democrats were forcing the banks to make loans to those same indigent and unqualified borrowers, and when the housing bubble burst the credit markets froze, because nobody knew exactly how many bad loans were out there, and which debt obligation tranches contained them. The end might be nigh, but it isn't because the US was too capitalist, as suggested in the OP. It's because of the usual combination of left-wing diseases that are killing all industrialized economies: Labor unions and special interests driving the cost of doing business into the stratosphere until companies are forced to flee, while those same leftists demand that the few remaining companies and successful individuals pay the tab for the failed policies of the left via increased taxes to support handouts to the displaced workers. The US, the UK, Europe. All of them, exact same set of events, exact same result. However, it's quite understandable that "the world is collapsing because socialism has failed throughout the industrialized world" wouldn't be taught in Romania. |

Quoting: recollector This solution was great for americans and western europeans On this one point alone, it shows the reader how totally lacking his position is. Consider, moving jobs to Asia resulted in 7 million fewer jobs in America. That did not boost the American Economy. What actually kept the American Economy roaring until the Housing Boom collapse WAS THE HOUSING BOOM AND FREE SPENDING THAT RESULTED IN MANY EXCESS SERVICE SECTOR JOBS. VEry simple fact, if you add money into the economy, that excess money creates service sector jobs because people are spending and spending and spending and spending. THIS WAS ALL CONTRIVED BY PRESIDENT BUSH AND HIS CORRUPT GANG IN WASHINGTON. THE 30 TRILLION DOLLARS OF FRAUD IN THE MORTGAGE LOAN INDUSTRY GAVE A TREMENDOUS ARTIFICIAL BOOST TO THE ECONOMY UNTIL THE PEOPLE CAME TO THEIR SENSES. Houses were selling for four times what it would cost to build them new. People just stopped buying and the whole bubble burst. Bush had counted on the bubble continuing to run through the end of his presidency. If a democrat was elected in 2008, then the Republicans would have ammo to keep a republican in the presidency for the next half century because they would claim that Democratic policies caused the economic crash. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 33922505 Actually, that is wrong, too. Illegal immigration to the US, especially through the southern border has always been going on. It was happening when Eisenhower was president and has continued with minor increases and increases over the years. When the American economy is good, Mexican and Central Americans came up north looking for any work, because there was little work down in Mexico and further south. A Mexican could make more money mowing people's lawns or digging their gardens in a couple of hours in the US than they could make in a week down in Mexico. To support their wives and three or four children down there, they did any work they could find and used money transfers to pay for their families back in Mexico. During the Great Boom caused by the Mortgage Scam run by the Bush administration, the greatest increase occurred in illegal immigration. When that boom collapsed, the immigration actually swung to almost Zero in 2009-2010. With the creation of several million jobs in the Service Sector in the past four years, the Mexicans have started coming back again. It is not Democrats or Republicans who draw them here. The only lure is job availability. They simply would not come up here if they could not find jobs. |
