The report cited several examples of unfair disciplinary measures, including the story of the child with the "black" shoes. Other incidents include:

• Students on a school bus were throwing peanuts at one another. Because one of the peanuts hit the female bus driver, five black male high school students were arrested on felony assault charges.

• A student was sent to a juvenile detention center for wearing the wrong color socks. It was considered to be a probation violation from a previous fight.

Not even the Nazi's cared about shoe color..

What's next.."Child vomits" and it is considered a terrorist attack due to the smell which offends others???.

What is outrageous is that this child did nothing wrong yet is traumatized by the experience - for what? The mother was doing her best and her child is humiliated and punished. This truly sucks!

I was all for this story, but then I read a few articles on it.

The focus of the story is wrong, I agree. Of course that poor kid shouldnt have been in trouble.

The part that angers me, is the coalition that put this together is a black coalition, and the primary focus is to show how blacks are dealt with more harshly in zero tolerance schools.

So, that is what made me mad. Why cant there be an organization fighting the good fight for ALL kids treated unjustly by zero tolerance policy?

Government public education is the most powerful tool in controlling peoples minds and actions.

Why do you think that Governments and religions spend the majority of their money and efforts building and paying for schools? Why has the US spent billions in Iraq building schools?

I would never let my children go to a public school until they were college age and have their minds and hearts firmly cemented in questioning everything and finding their own answers.

So they take dress code that important.. im guessing then this school must also take teaching as important. They must have the best teachers in the entire country, dedicated one on one tuition, proper subjects like maths physics and english, no messing about!

If I was the police dispatcher and some moran called about a kid wearing the wrong shoes, I would laugh and hang up on them.

The report examined more than 100 school districts and claimed that black students are affected by harsh disciplinary actions at a much greater rate than their white peers. It notes that “for every one white student who is given an out-of-school suspension, three black students are suspended, even though black students comprise just half of the student population.”

It's because of how the blacks behave...they make it sound like it's unfair but try being there and having to deal with the Negros, only then can you understand.

A dress code at a school is a school policy, not a law to be inforced by the police. I don't even understand why the police would get involved in something like this. This something for the principal to handle directly with the parents. A five year old is not responsible for buying his own shoes and should not be punished for something he had no choice about - and certainly not by the police.

And what kind of fucked up teacher is that? If I saw one of my students was so poor that they had to use a marker on their shoes to change the color, my heart would go out to them and I would help them find a way to get the right shoes, not run to the principal or call the police on them.
