I'm 1/4th German. My grandmother was German, spoke German until she was 13, even though her grandparents were born here in the U.S.. Family names were Hess, Wolf, Wiser, and Fey (pronounced F-eye). I managed to trace the great-great grandparents to Bavaria, they'd listed on the census as their birthplace.

I'm proud of all of my heritage...even if the Hess/Wolf branch may be German-Jews. (I'm mad at Jews currently because of their Babylonian Talmud crap).

I love German food.

Germany is a beautiful country.

However, like the old saying goes: You can never go home again.

My home now is the U.S.. For better or worse.
