RESEARCH 'INFLATION SUBSTITUTION HEDONICS' When inflation is high and is being lied about, a common tactic is to change a product for a cheaper one. Another tactic is to change sizes/weights to smaller ones. They are lying about inflation by cheating, beef is more expensive which is why they have been substituting it for horse at the same prices. They have already blamed the damp weather for bad potatoe yields etc, which is just covering up the inflation rise. |

Where the hell is all that horse meat coming from? Are there farms that breed horses just for their meat? I thought horses were mainly recreational/pets these days. Quoting: Earth Daughter Possibly, but its not that simple. This is like when a drug dealer cuts cocaine/heroin with something else because his supply costs are going up and he cant pass the price increase on to his customers... What he does instead is decreases the quality by cutting it with something else and hope nobody notices, when they do notice he then has to increase prices for the previous quality. Thats what i think is going on here, they are using low quality meat to prop up the product because wholesale costs of beef have increased and they cant yet increase the prices because competitors are not increasing prices. INFLATION is HIGH and the government are LYING ABOUT IT. That beef product should probably be twice the price! well it would be if it were actually beef! LOL. |

Be careful of this: "Because horses are not a traditional food source in the United States, the Food and Drug Administration does not require human food safety information as it considers what drugs can be used legally on horses. Patricia El-Hinnawy, a spokeswoman for the agency, said agency-approved drugs intended for use in horses carried the warning “Do not use in horses intended for human consumption.” |
