The cops are so skilled that even with 47 rounds they were unable to kill two ladies delivering papers. Ironic, sad and pathetic.

There ought to be a law... That when you write something like this, you have to go on active police duty for a month, worst neighborhoods. Easy to throw stones. Would love to see how you'd hold up. Easy to case aspersions. I have a feeling you'd crumble under the realization that you can't force your vision of perfect on the world. Only wish I could see you in a situation like that, to see how you would react. I'm guessing not well.

I really can't even imagine what the truth of all of this will be. I did just read that the guns found in the truck were tied to the three murders. So yeh, he's messing with them.

But you know he's not running from them. He's out to kill them. So he can't be far.
 Quoting: Little Willow

How convenient. The guns to tie him to the alleged murders are found in the truck.
Well what if that was a set up, just not by the suspect?

Maybe that's laying down a legend for public consumption?
What if they were thrown down weapons?

I didn't see what the deal was with a truck being towed vs. on sealed up with plastic and duct tape on the back of a flatbed?

See how familiar it is to have more than one version and then twist it some more by having the truck show up intact in another location?

Confusion by design.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1482838

Yeh, could have been planted as a way to send him a message.

I didn't really get the rest of your post, lol. Can you explain it again? Sealed with duct tape, the truck is in two places?
 Quoting: Little Willow

If cops were framing him then they would put the throw down weapons in the truck.
What truck? A burned out hulk that I defy anybody to positively ID.
It was shown in a video being pulled out in plain sight behind a wrecker. I have also seen video of the truck being hauled under plastic wrap and duct tape (allegedly), on a flatbed wrecker. While yet another version of the alleged truck is found intact in a town outside San Diego.

How could his truck have tracks leading away to nowhere or so soon after the truck is found on fire like a big ole signal light? And yet no suspect. This is possible if the whole story is an invention by the cops setting up a guy in abstentia. Dead men tell no tales.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1482838

Here's info on that San Diego truck:

[link to losangeles.cbslocal.com]

[link to poway.patch.com]

Remember the VIN number of the burned out vehicle could not be determined - wondering if they were able to determine it yet - haven't seen anything on that yet.

My hunch:

The trail was a decoy.
He doubled-back to the truck (stepping carefully in his own snow-prints) grabbed his gear & split, before torching the truck.

Ps - it's not hard to break stock axels on civillian 4x4's when offroading. In fact that's why we four-wheelers upgrade axels to 1 or three-quarter ton.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 33989300

Split how? There would be tracks.
 Quoting: Little Willow

...

Idk. I'm guessing.

since he defeated being followed by footprints, he must have left them as a decoy before setting off the huge signal beacon (igniting the truck)

If he was clever enough to leave decoy prints, then clever enough to mask his true getaway.

Maybe he stole an unoccupied vehicle, had one there waiting, stole the car of the 'skier', or... Got out of here on skis?

Seriously - seven officers fired, we do not know how many more were there. Seven officers. They are trained to work as a team - one shoots the tires out the rest fan out as one says turn off the motor and step out of the car with your hands up. That is the job, that's what they get trained for and that is what they get PAID for ... If you are suggesting when chaos came they lost all training memory and became the wild west shootout at the ok corral - then maybe they should have not chosen that profession, the seven.

You are probably right on the money, OP.
Just like in the movies or TV show.

I really don't see how a person could escape the Bonny and Clyde routine done to their vehicle and escaped with only
minor glass cuts, do you? Only through the magic of Television. What if the vehicle was staged?
What if the story of the two ladies is fake?
What if the story of who was in the vehicle or the reason it got shot up happened somewhere else and had other occupants all together?
Short answer is: nobody will be the wiser. They would be absolutely satisfied with the story given.

newspaper trucks roll down streets all over the world every day in good and bad

neighbourhoods .

this shooting shows total incompetence and disregard for, police procedure, the law itself and citizens lives and safety.

to cast aspersions would be to speculate that these terrible marksman cops were attempting to murder someone who was exposing them or their cronies as corrupt

look at them busy texting on their phones at the scene, getting their story straight.

This is a repost of a comment on the LA Times website, but it accurately describes the situation:

"The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), The FBI, and the CIA are all trying to prove that they are the best at apprehending criminals. The President decides to give them a test. He releases a rabbit into a forest and each of them has to catch it.

The CIA goes in. They place animal informants throughout the forest. They question all plant and mineral witnesses. After three months of extensive investigations they conclude that rabbits do not exist.

The FBI goes in. After two weeks with no leads they burn the forest, killing everything in it, including the rabbit, and they make no apologies. The rabbit had it coming.

The LAPD goes in. They come out two hours later with a badly beaten bear. The bear is

yelling: "Okay! Okay! I'm a rabbit! I'm a rabbit!"

I was wondering about this at first myself, but someone said its because theyre trying to keep the funeral and shit secret.

This kill by Dorner wasnt a planned event of targeting someone he knew, but rather a spontanoues one that happened by chance encounter, so its unlikely he knows the identity of who he killed.
