Thats the place alright. So my question is - the witness said he was at AM/PM and flagged down officers who then followed the truck. What AM/PM was he at when he flagged down officers - where did the pursuit begin?

A law enforcement official working on the investigation told the network a Coleman stove, cot and propane gas supplies were found inside Dorner’s Nissan Titan.

Two long-range rifles with suppressors and a Glock handgun were also reportedly recovered.

[link to losangeles.cbslocal.com]

Has anyone heard if they figured out what was used to start the fire?
 Quoting: BunnyGirl

No but I know the truck was wrecked also, and unconfirmed reports are that he tried to get it going again.

In other words, they dont think it was staged by Dorner, but then again thats impossible to prove. It would be smart to stage something like that and make it look like he was still in the Big Bear area stuck, when he;s really chillin somewhere comfy. Who knows... prolly only Dorner.
 Quoting: JR 33968321

I think he had more time to plan than we think he did. It has been assumed that being released from the Navy on the 1st is what set him off but he probably knew that would happen a week or maybe weeks before the 1st.

If so he had more than enough time to get another vehicle to Big Bear with the plan that after his first retaliations that he could abandon the truck in Big Bear, making them think he was still there, & use the other vehicle to get away.

Hesperia, where Hwy. 395 starts, is only 45 to 50 miles from Big Bear by road & less as the crow flies. Hwy. 395 goes all the way to Oregon up the Eastern side of California and is not heavily travelled in the winter except for skiers on way to Mammoth. Or instead of going too far north he could have cut back from 395 to L.A.

It would seem he would lay low for awhile though & go further north. But who knows - he could be anywhere.

Watching news now - Oh get this - the shed they searched yesterday was not Dorners and 'may' have belonged to a relative of Dorners...... Big question - what drove them there if the shed was not in his name?

A man claiming to be Chris Dorner called father of Monica Quan four days after the murders. Told him he should have done a better job of protecting his daughter. Supposedly happened 3 hours after cop shootings. That would make it 4 or 5 in the morning.

Yes folks thats the only thing they claim to have to go on here. And btw that facebook account was created only 2 weeks ago, with ZERO friends, and no comments. He posted over a total of SIX days. Who did he expect to see the manifesto? Nobody was reading his facebook account.

Is there a possibility that the Irvine murders might be a separate incident than the cop shootings? Is there a possibility that this guy did not start the facebook page? Until we have the answers to those two questions (such as what weapons used in both murders, maybe some surveillance video, perhaps chasing down an IP address of facebook editor, etc) I'm not buying this story.
 Quoting: BunnyGirl

I got the feeling this guy was smart enough to create a presence for the media to grab hold of before starting his war.

What horrible pics would they have found elsewhere to splatter all over the news? He wanted to give the public a personality they could identify with and warm up to.

...I mean come on! Look at that smile! The guy has heart and looks like an honorable badass in service of his country.

Now take someone like that and fuck them in the ass like the LAPD did and you get what you have now. They ruined his life cause some stupid pig bitch had to kick a mentally retarded kid in the face after he was already restrained and this guy's conscious could not simply ignore that so he did something about it and they ruined him for it. Not just his job but his military career which was something he was very proud of.

These pigs are going to get what they deserve and they are the one's who caused this. NOT Dorner! they put him on this path that he now feel obligated to carry out. They took everything from him for nothing and what does a man do once he has nothing left to lose?

When there is no justice left what is one to do? ...well this guy is using his skills and training to do what he can.

Why then would you leave the weapons? Even the propane tank could be used for a diversion ... Why leave the weapons? unless you are freaking out and running thinking you are being tailed - but why then haven't they found him for two days?

baffling.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 28689320

Could be a decoy. Could be he left extra equipment in vehicle because of surprise axle, but is carry enough to bunker down. You can live out of a big backpack for weeks or months if you have quality gear, knowledge, and drive. And I think he's got the execution penalty for motivation.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 6514674

Could be a misdirection move certainly.

I think this guy has patience and I think the cops assume he is going to try to hit them as fast as possible to rack of kills but I think he is going to wait and move and stalk hit then run and hide and then do it again. If he does have a 50cal he doesn't need to get close. Caught em off guard the first times. Now he goes sniper.

Right now they burning resources and are so paranoid they are shooting innocent civilians. to keep them at this level of alert only hurts the police. He waits somewhere safe till things calm down ...which may mean camping. but not in an area they think he might be.

He has been preparing ahead of time so he has a plan. He probably has a defendable hideout with a weapon stash somewhere. Thats where he would keep his launcher to take out any aircraft that may be brought to bare on his remote hard to access location.

I think him trying to steal a yacht to run to mexico was also a misdirection. He wanted them to think he was running when he is going to war. Does a guy who gets in a shoot out with cops and then goes to to the station to get a kill sound like someone who is running? no he took it straight to them and he will continue to do so in a timely manner.

Most cops are also a lousy shot so he doesn't have much to fear unless there is 3 or 4 of them unloading entire clips on him while he isn't moving. He can go head to head with them and everytime will do much more damage then they are capable of returning.

He discovered a big serious corruption problems first hand in the police department and it disillusioned him and ruined his life. You think it is all about himself and revenge? If so you are wrong. This is about bullshit that has been allowed to perpetuate and grow within our so called "peace keepers" service. There are very few good cops now and they keep their mouths shut and cover for the bad ones or they would lose their jobs and be a "no" cop just like this fellow.

Subj: Last resort
Regarding CF# 07-004281

I know most of you who personally know me are in disbelief to hear from media reports that I am suspected of committing such horrendous murders and have taken drastic and shocking actions in the last couple of days. You are saying to yourself that this is completely out of character of the man you knew who always wore a smile wherever he was seen. I know I will be villified by the LAPD and the media. Unfortunately, this is a necessary evil that I do not enjoy but must partake and complete for substantial change to occur within the LAPD and reclaim my name. The department has not changed since the Rampart and Rodney King days. It has gotten worse. The consent decree should never have been lifted. The only thing that has evolved from the consent decree is those officers involved in the Rampart scandal and Rodney King incidents have since promoted to supervisor, commanders, and command staff, and executive positions.

The question is, what would you do to clear your name?

Name;
A word or set of words by which a person, animal, place, or thing is known, addressed, or referred to.

Name Synonyms;
reputation, title, appellation, denomination, repute.

A name is more than just a noun, verb, or adjective. It's your life, your legacy, your journey, sacrifices, and everything you've worked hard for every day of your life as and adolescent, young adult and adult. Don't let anybody tarnish it when you know you've live up to your own set of ethics and personal ethos. In 8/07 I reported an officer (Ofcr. xx xx/now a Sergeant), for kicking a suspect (excessive force) during a Use of Force while I was assigned as a patrol officer at LAPD's Harbor Division. While cuffing the suspect, (xx xx), xx kicked the suspect twice in the chest and once in the face. The kick to the face left a visible injury on the left cheek below the eye. Unfortunately after reporting it to supervisors and investigated by PSB (xx/xx), nothing was done. I had broken their supposed "Blue Line". Unfortunately, It's not JUST US, it's JUSTICE!!! In fact, 10 months later on 6/25/08, after already successfully completing probation, acquiring a basic Post Certificate, and Intermediate Post Certificate, I was relieved of duty by the LAPD while assigned to patrol at Southwest division. It is clear as day that the department retaliated toward me for reporting xx for kicking Mr. xx xx. The department stated that I had lied and made up the report that xx xx had kicked the suspect. I later went to a Board of Rights (department hearing for decision of continued employment) from 10/08 to 1/09. During this BOR hearing a video was played for the BOR panel where xx xx stated that he was indeed kicked by xx xx (video sent to multiple news agencies). In addition to xx xx stating he was kicked, his father xx xx, also stated that his son had stated he was kicked by an officer when he was arrested after being released from custody. This was all presented for the department at the BOR hearing. They still found me guilty and terminated me. What they didn't mention was that the BOR panel made up of Capt. xx xx, Capt. xx xx, and xx xx xx had a signigicant problem from the time the board was assembled. Capt. xx xx was a personal friend of xx xx from when he was her supervisor at Harbor station. That is a clear conflict of interest and I made my argument for his removal early and was denied. The advocate for the LAPD BOR was xx xx. xx also had a conflict of interest as she was xx friend and former partner from Harbor division where they both worked patrol together. I made my argument for her removal when I discovered her relation to xx and it was denied.
