BREAKING: There's been shots fired at an officer in Orland. Glenn County Sheriff Larry Jones says a deputy tried to pull a person over, and that person fired at the deputy. It's not clear if the suspect has been caught, of if anyone was hit. A helicopter is searching a nearby neighborhood. Action News has a crew at the scene, stay tuned for updates...

Okay....

Here is a pic of the car that was hit.

Is that when we find out if it is as easy to get a nuke as a Barrett M28?

How many terrified people are going to be shooting at the cops first, as they fear being mistaken for newspaper delivery ladies?

Wasn't saying the newspaper ladies and the surfer didn't deserve due process.

They have as much as said they intend to execute him, no matter what. They want him to die like this guy. Great cop quote:

When he failed to show the officers both hands and they spotted a handgun in one of his hands, they opened fire. Freeland's autopsy showed that he was shot 68 times. An investigation of the scene revealed that police fired 110 rounds.

"That's all the bullets we had, or we would have shot him more," Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd told reporters.

They did say he won't be harmed if he turns himself in. But I don't think he wants that. It sounds like he wants to go out like you describe. I hope not.

I guess they really haven't said what "targeted" means.

Why would Dorner Burn his Truck?

Something's fishy.

It would have given him less time to get away.

Did rogue cops capture him and destroy the evidence of it? Maybe to torture him or to later collect a reward that hadn't been set up yet?

Accused Gunman Christopher Dorner Issues Statement… “It’s Not Me!”

“It’s not me!,” Dorner says in the statement. “I have been out of town on vacation and just heard the news that I am blamed for killings I did not and never would commit. This “manifesto” the police are using against me is just a few ideas for a screenplay I am working on with my former colleague Mark Fuhrman. Tell my mom I’m OK. Once again… the cops have it all wrong…. I will soon be in touch.”

THis seems to have gone cold. Wonder if they'll get it back in gear for the big speech in DeeCee.

Thanks, bunnygirl, for doing the heavy lifting on a big thread. That being said, while your outrage is reasonable, I don't think for a minute that the only thing they're going on is a Facebook page and the docs sent to CNN. This has been building for some time, and there is personal stuff here that has set off their sirens. Probably due to the choice of victims... I just don't think they'd do this whole shebang for a stunt. Nope.

Still glad to see that you are standing tall on this, and hope if anyone I know and love gets into trouble, others are as vigilant on their behalf. Kudos.

As for the warrant, looks like it was issued last Wednesday.

[link to studiocity.patch.com]

"Orange County prosecutors have not announced any charges against Dorner, although an arrest warrant was issued under seal by a Superior Court judge on Wednesday. According to a federal arrest warrant affidavit filed Thursday, that arrest warrant notes that Dorner has been charged with multiple counts of murder."

(small portion of actual article)

Police business. So much they aren't telling. They have their reasons. Hope this doesn't lead to more trouble.

Thanks CH! That is why my hubby says too - that there is a lot not being said publicly which I can understand to an extent. The intrusion into so many people's lives just seems so off without a real solid reason being told. I am so seriously hoping they are not doing all of this craziness just because of that facebook post - tons of folks would be in serious trouble if that ever became the norm. It just a bizarre and interesting story and no new news right now. Guess I have to wait for this mystery to be solved. Thanks for the news on OC issuing an arrest warrant - now there are two out there.

LW - what I think was meant is that the LAPD have shown how interested they are in "apprehending" Dorner, considering that they did NOT even attempt to identify the newspaper ladies before expending more than 40 shots into their vehicle because "it was a truck and we are looking for a truck".

Due process? Not very likely. If they find him first, it appears that they WILL kill him. No matter what the circumstances. Which seems to be why some folks think that he knows something terribly incriminating for the LAPD.

But, then again, that's if he really exists.

Well, people kept saying nobody would ever get the reward, and they were 100% correct.

"Asked if they expected a share of the more than $1-million reward offered in the case, the couple said they didn't expect to receive anything.

"We heard nobody was getting that because he needed to be captured and convicted," Karen Reynolds said."

Nice.

I was watching some crime show the other day and this was what the episode was about...Chris Dorner sounded really familiar to me and I looked it up and sure enough, it was about this manhunt I had followed on here, 11 years ago...

Interesting to note....the story they are telling is not even close to factual....and they claimed he saved one bullet for himself and shot himself...

They also talk about all the LEO's he killed because he was disgruntled...

I had to look this thread up because, nothing was the same except for the fact it was the same man...

Changing history every day...we were glued to this so much that I remembered it all these years later...the story was changed drastically in current times...
