Re: A Conscious Fog - Indra's Net
So Indra's Net it's like the mind of this universe being in a ready state for manifestation and evolution.

I don't know if this makes sense :)

It's not just in the ready state, as it is within the manifestation as well. There is no where it 'isn't. It IS. It seems to parallel descriptions of the Tao as well.

I love the Tao Te Ching! Probably one of my top five favorite books. A lot of the parables actually do refer to Indra's net.

Here is verse 14.

Look at it, it cannot be seen
It is called colorless
Listen to it, it cannot be heard
It is called noiseless
Reach for it, it cannot be held
It is called formless
These three cannot be completely unraveled
So they are combined into one

Above it, not bright
Below it, not dark
Continuing endlessly, cannot be named
It returns back into nothingness
Thus it is called the form of the formless
The image of the imageless
This is called enigmatic
Confront it, its front cannot be seen
Follow it, its back cannot be seen

Wield the Tao of the ancients
To manage the existence of today
One can know the ancient beginning
It is called the Tao Axiom

Perhaps the "end goal" of consciousness is not allegorical; perhaps consciousness is the only thing which can not be reduced into metaphor...

Perhaps then, consciousness is a quanta and not a construct.

Re: A Conscious Fog - Indra's Net
A couple more Tao te Ching similarities. But, according to the Tao te Ching, we can veer away from the Tao. The way I look at it that there can never be a steering away from it. Rather, it is a 'fighting' against the flow of Indra's Net. Similar to pouring concrete over grass. Or lust pouring forth in place of love.

Chapter 1

The Tao that can be spoken is not the eternal Tao
The name that can be named is not the eternal name
The nameless is the origin of Heaven and Earth
The named is the mother of myriad things
Thus, constantly without desire, one observes its essence
Constantly with desire, one observes its manifestations
These two emerge together but differ in name
The unity is said to be the mystery
Mystery of mysteries, the door to all wonders

Chapter 21

The appearance of great virtue
Follows only the Tao
The Tao, as a thing
Seems indistinct, seems unclear

So unclear, so indistinct
Within it there is image
So indistinct, so unclear
Within it there is substance
So deep, so profound
Within it there is essence

Its essence is supremely real
Within it there is faith
From ancient times to the present
Its name never departs
To observe the source of all things
How do I know the nature of the source?
With this

Chapter 37

The Tao is constant in non-action
Yet there is nothing it does not do

If the sovereign can hold on to this
All things shall transform themselves
Transformed, yet wishing to achieve
I shall restrain them with the simplicity of the nameless
The simplicity of the nameless
They shall be without desire
Without desire, using stillness
The world shall steady itself

Consciousness is infinite. Everything is consciousness, or rather consciousness is within all things. It merely has different forms and functions depending on what in the material can make use of it, or has the ability to let it flow through into expression.

We can replace consciousness with spirit, etc. But, we should not be hung up on semantics, as it is an attempt to express in language the inexpressible.

Thus, the metaphors and allegories and parables of all great teachers from our past.

The consistent end goal of conciousness is in the beginning. As the deliniation of all subsequent flowerings of form.

As all thought exists to make inside exist as outside.

It truly is that simple.
However, you don't want answers, as that ends the intrinsic process of beginnings.

In all questions is housed the bated breath of the erotica of be coming.
The distance between any two points is infinite if you are doing it right.

We live in a post modern society...people love to make things harder than they have to be. Post modernism takes a solid operational concept...smashes it into a million pieces then leaves is like a puzzle to piece back together. But that is a whole other thread topic within itself...I may just do that.

hmm

Re: A Conscious Fog - Indra's Net
The "conscious fog" that designed the universe was the cosmic microwave background radiation, which is the oldest light in the Universe, and the remains of the fireball out of which our Universe sprang into existence 13.7 billion years ago.

This primordial light existed even before any star was born and it permeated the entire universe.

This thermal radiation is almost perfectly uniform, except for minute differences in temperature in certain spots of the universe. As it turned out, these spots are exactly where the stars and galaxies formed afterwards. For this reason, some scientists conclude that the cosmic microwave background radiation "layed out" the locations where stars and galaxies should be positioned even before they were formed.

The microwave pattern is the cosmic blueprint from which today's clusters and superclusters of galaxies were built. The different colours represent minute differences in the temperature and density of matter across the sky. Somehow these small irregularities evolved into denser regions that became the galaxies of today.
