Re: I'm Going Grocery Shopping; Share a Recipe With Me :)
Spinach Artichoke Dip

2 Cans of Artichoke Hearts

1 Bag of Spinach

1 package of cream cheese

1/4 cup mayo

few leaves of fresh basil, chiffonade.

Fresh Garlic

Olive Oil

Parmesan Cheese

Pick the spinach and give it a 20 second blanche in boiling water.

Shock it with cold water.

Strain and squeeze out the extra water. Chop up this Spinach.

Put it in a Bowl with your cream cheese and set it aside. (let the cheese warm up so we can mix it later)

Drain your cans of Artichokes. Put them in a roasting pan and coat them with olive oil and garlic. Spread that marinate all around the artichokes and put them in the oven 375 F maybe 20 - 30 mins

Roast them till the garlic is cooked and the artichokes just start to take on some roasted color.

Mix all the Roasted Garlic Artichokes with the cream cheese spinach mixture and add the mayo and basil. Grind in some pepper and salt it to taste. Stir well.

Place the mixture into a small dish that is oven safe. A small casserole dish will work. I use Ceramic for this.

Level out the dip and sprinkle parm cheese on top.

Put this in the oven till the cheese on top starts to brown.

Serve the Dip Warm.

I like to smear the dip on some Grilled Chibatta bread that has been brushed with an herb / garlic oil mixture before grilling. Pita bread is also nice.

Repeat for as many people you are serving.....

1) 1.5" think well marbled Porterhouse steak.
2) One container of "Grub Rub". Don't cheat; find this.
[link to www.grubrub.com]
3) Large ziplock to hold steak.
4) One bag of Mesquite wood Lumb Charcol

Rub steak liberally on both sides, put in ziplock and refridgerate 2-3 hours, more is OK, too.

Cook steak on well heated, enclosed grill at 600 degrees, about 5 inches off the heat for 5-6 minutes first side, 4-5 minutes, the second side for nice rare/medium rare filet.

Serve promptly with steamed (frozen is best)broc and cheese, and baked potato. Side with bernaise and horseradish. Accompany with an amber beer like Shiner Bock.

Enjoy!

cheers

You can try some mini home made pizzas.

I like to use garlic Naan bread which is like a pita for the crust.

1 can of tomatoe paste
1 green pepper
1 onion
1 pepperoni cut in slices
some grated cheese your choice

Making the sauce is key.

First dice up your peppers and onions and fry them in butter with sea salt, onion powder and garlic powder.

Take your tomatoe paste add the whole can and 1 can of water to your pan along with some olive oil, roughly 2 tablespoons, and mix up your sauce and veggies. Sprinkle a pinch of sugar in the sauce to get rid of the acidity. Add a table spoon of butter to the sauce.

I think thats everything for the sauce and make sure you save some onions and peppers for the toppings and just make a normal pizza. You can also pre cook the naan bread or pita bread slightly if you want.. I sometimes butter it and toast it a bit before applying the toppings and baking it fully. You can butter and add garlic salt/toast it before topping it, which adds tremendous flavour... If you like garlic..

I usually bake it open 7-12 mins at 350. Or longer if you like it crispy, just make sure it does crisp up a bit underneath the crust so you pizza doesn't fold over while you're eating.

you can add anything you want for toppings but that is my simple homemade pizza and its quite tasty and gets lots of positive reviews from family..

Tonight ive got Tenderloins.

Iam gonna brush um with oil, real garlic, salt and pepper

Then iam gonna take some Bacon and wrap it around the steak before grilling.

Ive got some Ham chunks in the freezer from a Large Ham we had so I think I may use them to make some Au Gratin Potato with ham.

I will make it creamy and cheesy with some thin sliced potato done on my Mandolin.

Then I have asparagus that I will steam. And Coat with an Herb butter when its done.

For the steak I will saute a few shrooms.

p.s if you're not picky you can use ready made sauce out of a can/jar too.. It just speeds your cooking time way up and some sauces aren't too bad.. never use ketchup lol.. Thats the ultimate insult lol

Re: I'm Going Grocery Shopping; Share a Recipe With Me :)
you know the trick to a juicy steak is sea salt and make sure you season it a few hours before cooking.. Then take it out of the fridge and let rest on the counter for 15 mins.. Not sure why but the steak is so juicy when I do it this way.

and never freeze steak. Always get it fresh and eat it that day for the best result.

Egg Foo Young

heat peanut oil in pan/wok

in a bowl add handful of fresh bean sprouts, quarter handful diced green onions, quarter handful of diced slow roasted pork, crack one egg and mix thoroughly.

carefully ladle mixture into hot oil and gently flip when browned on bottom...

serve with rice and homemade gravy using drippings from slow roasted pork, or cheat and buy gravy in a jar.

See this one, for a hot summer's day you can keep in mind when the hot days arrive.

A waffel sandwich or open waffel snack. Make your own waffels but use thick sour milk in the recipe mixture. Prepare any fish to your taste to serve cold and make a salad you like to go with it, make a fish sauce with little chopped garlic and onion, use lots of lettuce, use for filling or for open spread. I poach the fish in water with herbs etc and let it cool and refrigerate, very fast to make. Ready made waffels from shops would spoil the taste the thick sour milk gives it body and the taste is lovey, can also be used for the icecream recipe waffels.

This is very nice if you are starving and need something that is tasty, nourishing and filling but not heavy.

Winter - meat roasts and roast potatoes.

Award winning Hawaiian Ginger-Spam
Very tasty.

One can of spam
Small chunk of ginger root
One larger tomato or two med sz.
Brown onion

Cut one can of spam into large dice size chunks

Brown spam in a pan then remove from pan.

Use same pan to saute About 1/3 of the onion and a few good size pieces of the ginger root. cook this for about 3-4 min
then cut up the tomato and let it cook until melted.

Then after about 3-4 more min of letting the Onion, Ginger & tomato cook together, dump the browned spam chunks and stir for about two min on med. heat then Cover the pan with a lid for 3-4 min on very low heat serve over steamed rice

remember to remove the skin off of the ginger before cooking.
You do not need to eat the ginger root to enjoy this tasty de-lite.
If you like garlic use whole clove garlic about one finger will do.

Awesome chili:

1 lb hamburger (lean)

1 lb spicy ground sausage

1 onion

bunch of fucking fresh garlic cloves

1 QT spicy hot V8 juice

2 packages Frenches chili mix

2 cans Brooks spicy hot chili beans

2 cans rotel

1 big ass can crushed tomatoes

Caramelize half the diced onion and fresh crushed garlic and then brown meat on top of it...do not drain

Throw everything into a crock pot and simmer on low all day, or all night to have great chili all the next day...

If you like pasta in your chili then add enough water (about a cup) and salt to cook directly in the chili as it simmers in crock pot.

Feel free to add chili powder and garlic powder to taste
