Peanut Thai dish..
(I don't know if it's technically a peanut satay)

Rice noodles

Fresh snow peas

Fresh red pepper, chopped

1/2 (or whole) onion, chopped

Lots of fresh garlic, chopped

1/2 cup peanut butter

Tamari or soy sauce

Chicken breast or tofu

Whatever else you want in it.. carrots, bean sprouts, scallions, etc.

Bring water to a boil, take off heat, throw in rice noodles for 5-7 minutes. Strain, put noodles in cold water to keep.

Make a sauce with the tamari, peanut butter, whatever else (chili garlic sauce, General Tso's sauce), stir fry the meat and veggies, strain and add the noodles, stir fry everything.

Voila.. easy, filling, healthy!

Just made this last night and am probably eating the leftovers again tonight.

you know the trick to a juicy steak is sea salt and make sure you season it a few hours before cooking.. Then take it out of the fridge and let rest on the counter for 15 mins.. Not sure why but the steak is so juicy when I do it this way.

and never freeze steak. Always get it fresh and eat it that day for the best result.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 31754688

Where are you getting fresh 'unfrozen' unless you raise your own and even then wouldnt you have to freeze it since you couldnt eat a cow in one meal.
You do realize the meat in the coolers at the store was frozen then thawed before it was put there.

Awesome chili:

1 lb hamburger (lean)

1 lb spicy ground sausage

1 onion

bunch of fucking fresh garlic cloves

1 QT spicy hot V8 juice

2 packages Frenches chili mix

2 cans Brooks spicy hot chili beans

2 cans rotel

1 big ass can crushed tomatoes

Caramelize half the diced onion and fresh crushed garlic and then brown meat on top of it...do not drain

Throw everything into a crock pot and simmer on low all day, or all night to have great chili all the next day...

If you like pasta in your chili then add enough water (about a cup) and salt to cook directly in the chili as it simmers in crock pot.

Feel free to add chili powder and garlic powder to taste

Re: I'm Going Grocery Shopping; Share a Recipe With Me :)
1 red pepper
1 green pepper
1 onion
1 cauliflower head
a decent bundle of broccoli
2 carrot sticks
2 celery sticks
some hot peppers of your prefered strength
some garlic cloves

Chop all this up into little bits, mix together, and fry in your preferred vegetable oil so that the veggies start sweating their juices but remain crunchy (they start getting shiny)

This makes several days worth of healthy veggie stir-fry for rather cheap! The flavors all blend together in a nice way.

Add chopped cooked chicken for some meat if that's your thing, like lilydale pre-cooked chicken strips, but that adds significantly to the cost heh

I'm sure other veggies would work well too, those are just what I usually use. I know cauliflower is bland on it's own, but this way it absorbs the other flavors and is a good low-carb replacement to rice.

I got this from watching the "My Big Fat Diet" documentary

Re: I'm Going Grocery Shopping; Share a Recipe With Me :)
Easiest dessert recipe I've ever heard:

1 box white cake mix
2 cans peaches
1 can Sprite

Grease pan with butter, sides and bottom. Pour in dry cake mix evenly. Peaches over that. Pour can of Sprite over top. Do NOT stir or mix! Bake 350° for about 40 minutes.

And the best thing...I've tried it with draining the peaches or not, peaches in heavy syrup or the other type, tried 7UP and Ginger Ale, used unfrozen sliced strawberries, used fruit cocktail. Next on my list is trying chocolate cake!

Probably not too healthy, but you have to have a treat sometime! Stores sometimes have sales of buy 10 of something and its $10. Get 10 cake mixes, 20 cans of fruit, and a 12 pack of Sprite. You have 10 desserts for 35 bucks. Good for preppers!
