Ya once again, speaking as someone who was there in Venezuela just 48 hours ago I find it hard to understand the numbers posted in this thread or in that article. There is no description as to what those numbers refer to. 47% of what?? 4.3 Bolivars to 6.3 Bolivars as compared to what?

Google shows 4.29 Bolivar to the USD today.

I found the USD exchange to range from 16 Bolivars to 19 Bolivars as recent as 48 hours ago, depending on who was doing the exchange. Quite a bit higher that 4.29.

So I am a bit confused.

Similar to the ZIRP (zero interest rate policy)... The big banksters get to borrow money at very low interest rates, sometimes negative interest rates. As in you get paid to borrow money.

The rest of us suckers get to borrow at a lower than normal rate of say 6% or less. But 6% is shitloads higher than a -0.05% interest rate.

Welcome to serfdom!

While the rest of the developed world is scrambling here and there, politely prodding its central bankers to destroy their relative currencies, all the while naming said devaluation assorted names, "quantitative easing" being the most popular, here comes Venezuela and shows the banana republics of the developed world how it's done:

VENEZUELA DEVALUES
VENEZUELA DEVALUES FROM 4.30 TO 6.30 BOLIVARS
VENEZUELA NEW CURRENCY BODY TO MANAGE DOLLAR INFLOWS
CARACAS CONSUMER PRICES ROSE 3.3% IN JAN.
And that, ladies and gents of Caracas, is how you just lost 46% of your purchasing power, unless of course your money was in gold and silver, which just jumped by about 50%. Coming soon to every "developed" world banana republic near you.

Sure... the locals get their 11% gain. The outside investors get the 11% gain minus 46% when they convert it back to USD or what ever currency.

This is simply the result from a single battle in these (worldwide) currency wars. This was the first nuclear bomb dropped by a single nation... There will be more. Eventually we get to the mutually assured destruction (M.A.D.) phase. No country wins and everyone looses.

Just remember it was the banksters that fired the first shot and continue to stir the pot...

Re: Venezuela fires 1st nuke in currency war ....DEVALUES CURRENCY 47%
The US Dollar is the global trade medium of exchange.

and since the whole world is dependant upon it...

You try to kill it...and it kills you.

And if it dies because it can...you die.

A Dollar collapse could be engineered...but it would rebound and all that will be left to do is mop up the chaos.

that will keep you all busy.

The global system of which the US Dollar is the trade medium of exchange or power of.

wants to exist as long as possible.

Economic zones lower in teh hierarchy are just milked by those higher in the hierarchy to sustain them.

Iceland, Greece, Iran, Syria.

Are being loooted to sustain all the economic zones above.

And the USA is the top or demand of the global system...

The wars the USA fights benifits the powerful of the world at the expence of the powerless to resist their fate.

The war machine sustains China and Russia.

The threat of annihilation sustains you all...

but the global system is collapsing reguardless...

The system is a lie that all within the system supply with power to sustain it's appearance as Truth.

and when the demand of the lie becomes greater than the supply of power.

That is revelation...

The collapse of the currency is a sign that the US Dollar flow into South America is drying up.

and their economies are collapsing.

Of course the top is betting on this...and those bets are winning and looting South America to sustain North America the EU...the UK...Japan...China, Russia.

The top has super computers that do all the buying and selling.

The bottom just follows along and speculates.

Don't say I didn't warn you...

Watch for more of this "race to the bottom" stuff...now that all currencies are fiat currency, they can tax you with a keystroke...

Because make no mistake, that's what just happened in Venezuela, every man, woman, and child just got taxed 47% of their net worth, because their net worth was calculated in Fiat currency...

I was just in Venezuela a couple months ago, the currency devaluation was needed. The value of the bolivar which was previously set by the government was way too high in comparison with the dollar and other currencies. There is a huge black market in trading bolivars for dollars. While the government had set the rate about 5 to 1 dollar, the real blackmarket rate was around 15 to a dollar, and literally anyone on the street other than the government approved cash exchanges will give you 15 to a dollar or higher.

that is debateable.

i'd rather say its a protecitve measure.
venezuela now can sell and export on the one hand and blocks import on the other.

it can use its oil and gold to secure state level trade.

imagine all non $ and non € nations do this.

Why couldn't South America do what Libya was going to do, break away from the petro dollar. High taxes on products made outside of South America and grants and incentives to start producing items locally. If the EU can do it then the ones with less money can also do it.

With the right index the Amazon could be the worlds best producer of natural medicines if the phage route is followed so it isn't like they aren't without a unique product for sale to the world. China alone would probably buy what is intentionally grown in the areas clear-cut already. Beef might not have as much demand as it does today. Cuba already produces more medical staff than it needs so that is another area that would prove to have export potential especially if they alone are familiar with Amazon medicines.

If the coco leaf was the start of the coke/crack addictions in places like North America perhaps getting back to just the leaf is what should be served at a rehab place so that is another possible source of income should America ever lift the sanction everybody that doesn't tow the line attitude. Don't hold your breath on that ever happening.
