Google "Thunder snow" it happens all the time in Kansas, Oklahoma, North Texas, etc. that region. I've seen it SO many times in my life. Totally normal.

It is called thunder snow. It is rare and it is 100% normal. I saw it in the January 1996 blizzard in NYC. It happened in northern Alabama a few weeks ago. Heavy dry snow falling very fast creates the conditions like static electricity to produce the lightning... And thunder.

I live in Wisconsin and while thunder and lightning associated with a winter storm is not a regular occurence, I have witnessed it numerous times before in my life. This is not a big deal.

About 4:30 pm I looked out the window to see if it was snowing. It was and there was a pink/orange hue to everything.

I thought it was weird and I just went back to the pc.
Later on my friend called me and asked what I was doing about 20 minutes ago. I told him I was on the pc.

He was driving somewhere and he saw the pink/orange stuff turn on and then off. It was on for a while he said. I said that I saw it too. We decided it was the machine.

Ten minutes ago I heard about 5 loud banging noises that sounded identical. I'm hoping that the power stays on.
