"An illustration of the Yarkovsky effect. As sunlight (bottom) heats the rotating asteroid, parts that are exposed to the sun for longer get warmer. The warmest regions radiate the most heat. The radiation imparts a push on the asteroid, in this case in the same direction it is orbiting the sun."
