I have a question about conspiracy theories for the experts out there..
I was looking for the oldest conspiracy theory I could find and was surprised that before the 1930s there were no conspiracy theories only known conspiracies.
The oldest conspiracy theory I could find was started by the Nazi party for political purposes, and was used to polarize people against the Jews.
My question is are all conspiracy theories just bread crumb trails that dead end, made to control people by keeping them away from the truth?

Conspiracy theories did not exist until a power hungry government wanted to get rid of part of their populace.
As traditional mind control goes it works better than most methods.

Uhm.. Not even close to correct, the first (well-known) conspiracy theories around the Freemasons emerged in a book released in 1797.... "Proofs of a conspiracy" by John Robison.

Thank you for your information I need to look into that.
I just searched around google for old conspiracy theories and nothing showed up before Hitlers viewpoint on the Jews.

And what, specifically, was that "conspiracy theory"? And from what source did you find this?

One of the greatest and oldest conspiracies is Religion. Theories around the real workings of the world were put forward by Hypatia around AD 350–370 in Greece. Science even then started to unravel the official story and, of course, like so many current theorists, she was murdered by the Establishment of the time. Now science has become a commercialized religion and those who see past the motivations of present commercialized science are terminated.

In ancient Rome I believe, the Colosseum put on plays that were used to control the population in the same way false flag events are used to make us hate certain people and places and praise others. Entertainment is always the best way to change and mold someone's mind.

Today is a gift, that is why it is called "The Present"

“When an opponent declares, “I will not come over to your side,” I calmly say, “Your child belongs to us already… What are you? You will pass on. Your descendants, however, now stand in the new camp. In a short time they will know nothing else but this new community.”
- Adolph Hitler

It wasn't portrayed as a conspiracy theory originally.
In most history books the ideology of the Nazis is put forward.
The idea that Hitler pushed was that the Jews control all markets and hold the German people down.
This seems to be the origin of the neo Nazi theory that the Jews are the Illuminati.

Entertainment is only so effective what about the small percentage of people who don't fall for it?
Why not set up a false trail for the natural truth seekers to keep them busy inspecting lies?

1678 - Hertfordshire: 'The Mowing Devil'
Picture
The artifact pictured left is a pamphlet dated August 22, 1678, entitled The Mowing-Devil: Or Strange NEWS out of Hertford-shire. It takes the form of a primitive news report, which started life as a woodcut – a type of early printing plate created by carving into a wooden block and then inking it.

even in the 1920's, there was new-age propaganda and disinformation, by germanic occult groups.

even during medieval times and further back, thousands of years in the past, there have been financial (economic) conspiracies spanning across continents, leading to wars and mass deaths - all for the glory of some select few.

manipulation of the sheeple is nothing new...

Your analysis is incorrect. Just of the top of my head I can think of many conspiracy theories pre 1930.

1 Lincoln assasination
2 William Henry Harrison dies 30 days after taking office.
3 Destruction of the USS Maine
4 The creature from Jekyll Island
5 WWI and the implementation of the League of Nations

Just to name a few.
