I had a problem with scorpions in december in dallas.

I wish it would getcold enough to kill them.

I fear they are sleeping and will wake up to torture me again in a few months.

They tortured me when I lived near Lake Travis in Lago Vista, the downstairs room I had was a scorpions den- I killed 60 of 'em and then stopped counting. They would drop onto my bed at night- I slept w the light on- HATE those things. I tried all of the old wives tale type stuff to kill them, then many diff. kinds of serious bug killers, all did not work. Cold does not kill them because they hide deep underground. Best thing to do is move out! I did.

Re: Texas/Oklahoma/Louisiana/ Mississippi/Alabama - weather/Tornado reports
Based on information in the outlook, current and forecast soundings values around the area, the main threat appears to be hail and damaging wind. Most storms should be in the category of QLCS and low topped cells. However, IVO the dryline, where the cold front will overtake it, any strong surfaced based cells can produce the threat of some isolated tornadoes.

Based on analysis of forecast severe weather parameters from the GFS, NAM-WRF, and RAP models, any tornadic activity that may occur should remain limited to the area outlined in the tornado prob. map. However, given the high 0-1 km and 0-6 km helicity values, SWEAT index, and some other severe indices, I cannot rule out later in the evening, possible tornadic activity as mentioned, in the area outlined on the following map.

Just East of Dallas...

Little Bastards love the bathroom area, almost got me two times while going in the middle of the night.

Not on the seat but on the floor around the toilet, feet went up while looking for something ta drop on the evil bastards.

Seems cats keep them away,in my case anyway...
Let my daughters cat have kittens last year and they, the cats stay under the house catching moles/mice and such so im thinking maybe those cats are catching those evil bastards as well.

Not looking good for my area on the weather, looks as if the line will move over us around 5-7am,hope it doesnt get bad.

Stay safe everyone and keep your NOAA weather radios on,looks like spring storms coming early this year.

[link to icons-ak.wunderground.com] 2 convective outlook National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 1130 am CST Sat Feb 09 2013 Valid 101200z - 111200z ..there is a slight risk of severe thunderstorms from East Texas across the lower MS valley and into western Alabama... ... A potent upper trough will move slowly eastward across the plains and MS valley with strengthening middle to upper level flow expanding southward to the Gulf Coast. At the surface...low pressure will move from eastern Nebraska into Iowa by 00z...with a cold front extending roughly from stl to mem to hou. Preceding the cold front...a warm front will lift northward across the lower MS valley and will allow a more moist and unstable air mass to spread northward across la...southern Arkansas...MS...and Alabama with boundary layer dewpoints rising into the middle 60s f. These boundaries...as
well as potential outflow boundaries...will serve as primary foci for severe weather. ..arklatex into the lower MS valley... Thunderstorms should be ongoing at 12z along the cold front from western Arkansas/southeastern OK into northestern Texas. The environment will already be strongly
sheared...and these storms may be severe producing mainly damaging winds. Models are in good agreement in depicting increasing deep differential divergence spreading eastward and likely enhancing some of
this convection...thus the damaging wind threat may increase with
time across southern Arkansas...northestern Texas and northern la through early afternoon. Meanwhile...the air mass will destabilize S of the warm front mainly through Theta-E advection as heating should be quite limited. Although capped early...the slow movement of the cold front will allow the moist boundary layer to deepen through the day. Strongly veering low level winds will be favorable for tornadic supercells...and there appears to be a corridor of maximum tornado probability from northestern la into much of central MS...immediately S of/or ahead of the potential Arkansas/northern MS mesoscale convective system. With large looping hodographs...a couple strong tornadoes could occur. Uncertainty regarding severe coverage ahead of the cold front activity precludes higher overall probabilities at this time. .Jewell.. 02/09/2013

Thank you for the kind words! hf

Everyone is focused on the East Coast weather and might not be paying attention to potential storms developing in other parts of the country.

I'm in North Texas and tend to old school weather watch by taking cues from nature. You can feel that something is brewing, skies are clouding, temps dropping and the wind is kicking up.

The severe weather risk will expand after dark as the main storm system begins to arrive and a line of storms starts developing. This line of storms will move eastward overnight into Sunday with a risk of damaging winds and large hail with the strongest cells. The threat will continue in Southeast and East Texas during the daylight hours on Sunday.

Anyway, here is the outlook graphic. The risk includes the eastern half of the Texas Panhandle and West Texas along with much of North, Central, and parts of South Texas.
