I like to keep an eye on where the storm chasers are sitting because they love to be in the middle of things. It's a pretty good indication as to where there might be some bad weather.

Did you see where they are right now? Over by Childress. The dry line is going to set up about there, like usual. We're having blue skies with just a little dust. Thankfully, the farmers have been sand-fighting and getting the fields ready for fertilizer, so not as much dust as we could get. Probably, should keep an eye on Wichita Falls down to Abilene for storm blow-ups. That should be about right, considering the low dewpoints we have right now.

It's fun to watch the storm chasers out here, before the storms fire up. It's kind of like watching them on Twister, sometimes! It's been a long time since we've seen a large number of chasers, though.

Thanks Lani..I'm not too worried but when weather is forecast to kick up after dark it's a bit concerning for folks in the watch area.

Aw, man...stop hoarding the rain, will ya!?! Out here in West Texas, we're drier than a popcorn fart. Even El Paso got more snow than we did on the South Plains.

Yeah we got no snow at all. The past 5 winters have been crazy here though. From total white out ice conditions one year to not even a snowflake the next, I think we're outta winter officially though. It's startin to warm up

The front is moving through here. Scroll down a little to the weather stats. Third section. Check out the wind speeds. Dewpoints are higher than the forecast discussion thought they would be. Waiting for the afternoon update. I'm crossing my fingers for rain here, but, historically, I doubt west of Lubbock will see any today.

No offense but it must be a really slow news day for us to be following a thread about thunderstorms.. Even with a lack of rain.

That's a forecast model for the 25th. We're in for it this month, if the met guys are right.

First possible super cell storms of the season. Also, remember super cells can, and do, spawn tornados. And, yeah...slow news day!LOL

I cannot stress how crappy our weather coverage is for our area. 90% of the time, I'm not aware we are even supposed to have rain, they just don't care about our area. Too many people complained I guess when they would cut out their television for the weather. Thanks for the heads up, and I'll be keeping an eye out. I completed the storm spotter training last year, just to learn more about what to look for.

Lol alrite for most people I guess there's a slight doom aspect. I'm just used to tornadoes. Man people in Cali FREAK OUT about our thunderstorms and tornadoes like most oklahomas probably would if they felt a 7.0

It's hardly rained out here for 2, going on 3 straight years. For me, it's not so much doom, it's hope. Watching weather trends has become more of a necessity out here. It's just a matter of time before more wells start drying up.

No way we could develop a system to clean salt water and fill the wells of a state on the coast, that would be to effecient. Lol. 3 years of literally no rain is drought I have not yet witnessed. I'd be hopin for rain to the ecosystem around there must be dwindling

My tornado shelter is filled with scorpions dont know how they keep getting in it suppose to be sealed air tight so I hope we dont get any tornado soon or we will be getting the shit stung out of us
