Here's the link to the hazardous weather. Once again, we get FIRE WEATHER. Quoting: Texan Buckeye [link to forecast.weather.gov] weather outlook They don't think we'll get any of the snow that's forecasted for Tuesday, either. It's going to stay North of Plainview. Thanks Buckeye! Here is a interesting link if you want to check out weather band radio broadcasts around the country. [link to www.wunderground.com] Thanks. I don't remember if I gave you this site before, but the disussions will give you a heads-up for the winter weather coming later this week. [link to www.storm2k.org] Here's their Texas spring discussion. Not much on it yet, though. [link to www.storm2k.org] It's a good site for all weather discussion. They also serve who stand and wait. This weekend: Slight severe potential in parts of Oklahoma, including some low-topped supercell potential in Eastern TX panhandle and N TX. Quoting: CowgirlK [link to www.spc.noaa.gov] If I remember right, you were on a thread last Spring and gave up to date posts about all the tornadoes that hit. Just wanted to give a shout out and say "Thank You" I live in Southeast Ok and appreciate all the work you have done. You were also very gracious to shills that badmouthed you and it was beyond kind of you :) That was refreshing! |

I like to keep an eye on where the storm chasers are sitting because they love to be in the middle of things. It's a pretty good indication as to where there might be some bad weather. Everyone is focused on the East Coast weather and might not be paying attention to potential storms developing in other parts of the country. I'm in North Texas and tend to old school weather watch by taking cues from nature. You can feel that something is brewing, skies are clouding, temps dropping and the wind is kicking up. The dry line is going to set up about there, like usual. We're having blue skies with just a little dust. Thankfully, the farmers have been sand-fighting and getting the fields ready for fertilizer, so not as much dust as we could get. Probably, should keep an eye on Wichita Falls down to Abilene for storm blow-ups. That should be about right, considering the low dewpoints we have right now. It's fun to watch the storm chasers out here, before the storms fire up. It's kind of like watching them on Twister, sometimes! It's been a long time since we've seen a large number of chasers, though. Thanks for the thread, my friend. I know my daughter, the weathertard, is going through "mommy can't go storm chasing anymore" withdrawal. Thank you Lord! They also serve who stand and wait. John Milton |

ABUNDANT GULF AND PACIFIC MOISTURE ALONG WITH INCREASING INSTABILITY AND WIND SHEAR...AHEAD OF THE UPPER SYSTEM AND SURFACE FRONTAL BOUNDARY...WILL YIELD A THREAT FOR STRONG TO SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS EAST TEXAS...NORTH LOUISIANA...AND SOUTHERN ARKANSAS SUNDAY AND SUNDAY NIGHT. DAMAGING WINDS...LARGE HAIL AND LOCALLY HEAVY RAIN WILL BE THE PRIMARY THREATS. ISOLATED TORNADOES ALSO REMAIN A POSSIBILITY...PARTICULARLY OVER PORTIONS OF NORTHCENTRAL LOUISIANA. |

Out here in West Texas, we're drier than a popcorn fart. Even El Paso got more snow than we did on the South Plains. Yeah we got no snow at all. The past 5 winters have been crazy here though. From total white out ice conditions one year to not even a snowflake the next, I think we're outta winter officially though. It's startin to warm up |
| Luisport User ID: 34010375 02/09/2013 03:16 PM ![]() Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | TOMORROW: MEANWHILE...THE AIR MASS WILL DESTABILIZE S OF THE WARM FRONT MAINLY THROUGH THETA-E ADVECTION AS HEATING SHOULD BE QUITE LIMITED. ALTHOUGH CAPPED EARLY...THE SLOW MOVEMENT OF THE COLD FRONT WILL ALLOW THE MOIST BOUNDARY LAYER TO DEEPEN THROUGH THE DAY. STRONGLY VEERING LOW LEVEL WINDS WILL BE FAVORABLE FOR TORNADIC SUPERCELLS...AND THERE APPEARS TO BE A CORRIDOR OF MAXIMUM TORNADO PROBABILITY FROM NERN LA INTO MUCH OF CNTRL MS...IMMEDIATELY S OF/OR AHEAD OF THE POTENTIAL AR/NRN MS MCS. WITH LARGE LOOPING HODOGRAPHS...A COUPLE STRONG TORNADOES COULD OCCUR. UNCERTAINTY REGARDING SEVERE COVERAGE AHEAD OF THE COLD FRONT ACTIVITY PRECLUDES HIGHER OVERALL PROBABILITIES AT THIS TIME. |

Scroll down a little to the weather stats. Third section. Check out the wind speeds. Dewpoints are higher than the forecast discussion thought they would be. Waiting for the afternoon update. I'm crossing my fingers for rain here, but, historically, I doubt west of Lubbock will see any today. They also serve who stand and wait. John Milton |

| Luisport User ID: 34010375 02/09/2013 03:27 PM ![]() Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | it might stall out near you Jedkins............DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SUNDAY THROUGH FRIDAY... SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY CONDITIONS WILL PERSIST OVER THE PANHANDLE WATERS INTO WELL INTO SUNDAY NIGHT. THERE IS ALSO A HIGH RISK FOR RIP CURRENTS ON SUNDAY. A COLD FRONT WILL BRING ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS TO THE REGION ON MONDAY. A STRONG TO SEVERE STORM CANNOT BE RULED OUT DEPENDING ON WHERE THE FRONT PULLS UP STATIONARY. WIND FIELDS WOULD CERTAINLY SUPPORT THIS...BUT GULF MOISTURE AND INSTABILITY MAY BE KEPT SOUTH OF THE AREA IF THE FRONT SAGS TO THE COAST. LOW PRESSURE IS FORECAST TO DEVELOP ON THE FRONT NEAR COASTAL LOUISIANA TUESDAY AFTERNOON AND THEN TRACK ACROSS THE FORECAST AREA TUESDAY NIGHT. THIS SYSTEM HAS THE POTENTIAL TO BRING HEAVY RAIN TO THE REGION TUESDAY INTO TUESDAY NIGHT...IN ADDITION TO A FEW STRONG TO SEVERE STORMS. |
| Holldoll User ID: 24459229 02/09/2013 03:28 PM ![]() Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I cannot stress how crappy our weather coverage is for our area. 90% of the time, I'm not aware we are even supposed to have rain, they just don't care about our area. Too many people complained I guess when they would cut out their television for the weather. Thanks for the heads up, and I'll be keeping an eye out. For me, it's not so much doom, it's hope. Watching weather trends has become more of a necessity out here. It's just a matter of time before more wells start drying up. Lol. 3 years of literally no rain is drought I have not yet witnessed. I'd be hopin for rain to the ecosystem around there must be dwindling |
