I'll see if I can find the Stratfor report and post a link. So far the Chinese focus has been on the coastal areas, developing trade, industry, etc. Now they have to try and do that for the bulk of the population living in rural squalor, environmental degradation, and decreasing supplies of fresh water. They have enormous problems developing from the confluence of state-mandated economic growth, demographics, environmental factors, and a lack of energy. |

I've been in manufacturing for my entire life and watched company after company go out of business or shift production offshore. Our economy won't recover until our politicians protect our manufacturers. On a side note. The wealth of America used to be centered in the manufacturing states like Michigan, Illinois, New York, and California. Now the money is all in Washington DC. Corruption of both political parties has ruined our future. The MSM has chosen destruction over truth. |

But in a few years it will be bronze, and then a wooden medal. I don't speak about threats, but reality. Most countries around the world will have China as the biggest trading partner towards this decennium. In contrary, the US will lose most trading partners as it is not competitive enough compared the the Asian traders. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 20566260 United States 02/10/2013 11:03 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | U.S. exports and imports last year totaled $3.82 trillion, the U.S. Commerce Department said last week. China’s customs administration reported last month that the country’s total trade in 2012 amounted to $3.87 trillion. China had a $231.1 billion annual trade surplus while the U.S. had a trade deficit of $727.9 billion. Quoting: pool “It is remarkable that an economy that is only a fraction of the size of the U.S. economy has a larger trading volume,” Nicholas Lardy, a senior fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics in Washington, said in an e-mail. “The surpassing of the U.S. is not because of a substantially undervalued currency that has led to an export boom,” said Lardy, noting that Chinese imports have grown more rapidly than exports since 2007. “This trade imbalance is not representative of the amount of goods actually produced in China and exported to the U.S., but this perspective tends to get lost amidst the heated political rhetoric in the U.S,” said Prasad. [link to www.bloomberg.com] GOOD GOD THAT IS HORRENDOUS. I wonder what our highest surplus number ever was |

Along came Adolf Hitler. He said that Germany WILL NOT IMPORT. That importing stuff made a weak nation. He enforced that Germany will make their own stuff, and put the citizens to work ! He encouraged the women to stay home and raise their own kids. New homes were offered with no interest. Imagine that, actual jobs ! new affordable housing ! strong economy and raising of kids in their own homes with their mother. Start digging for the truth... and hope we get a leader that will have the intelligence to do the same here and put Americans to work. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 1546575 United Kingdom 02/10/2013 11:07 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Its not remarkable at all, when you consider what they trade in. stuff that people need, like house hold objects, everything from toothbrushes to speakers, to toys, to tv's to furniture to cloths!! How is it remarkable that a country that has a monopoly on just about every essential good item, is making more trade volume than the USA> I dont have a single product in my house that says made in the USA on it. The only product i used to have was my fender strat. But i guess china will be making them cheaper. |

Immigrants should agree to higher education or be higher educated upon arrival We need to open up the factories again and make everything we need. We will have a surplus of availiable jobs. America would be strong again. Put the construction workers to work. Create millions of affordable homes around 80-100,000 dollars. The poor need a place to live too. With strong jobs and plenty of work, more mothers can stay home with the kids. Pride of making our own things instead of tainted or dangerous or substandard stuff from china will boost the morale of our country. We have to show that we will not stand up for the cruel practices of factory employees in china that are commiting suicide. We will not do business with a communist nation that cannot ensure the welfare of its people. We shall open up our own factory doors and take pride in what we are ourselves make MADE IN AMERICA :eagle1: |

It does not have to be union income nor does it have to be minimum wage. Lets reach a halfway point of livable income. We need to slow down immigration until we can get the factories started up again. Thousands of American factories have closed down since trade with China began. Americans do not want to fight for cashier jobs and stock boy jobs, selling and stocking chinese goods. We need jobs. We need national Pride ! We need MADE IN AMERICA ! :flag waver: |

Why? Because inorder to conquer us through poverty and great dispair, America must be brought down economically and politically and in every way possible. And next, they will also want a World War once they have gotten rid of our guns!! SO THE MOST IMPORTANT THINGS TO THESE DEVILS IS TO DISARM US!! AND THEY ARE WORKING ON THIS FEVERISHLY!! This is a false claim that uses banking bullshit derivatives and credit swaps and mortgage backed securities that make the US economy appear to be trillions larger than China's. Renmove all the false GDP "created" by banking derivatives and then compare to the two economies. |
