Bear in mind that this guy has already been in custody for years. The photos released from Abu Graib along with all the other information about the abuses in US custody should make you realise what day-to-day life, the torture, the "water boarding" and similar is like for this guy. No wonder he wants to die. He is already guilty before the "trial" starts. He is already either spending the rest of his life being tortured or he can end it through execution. What would you choose?
