I think vaping is great. Not the ones you buy in the convenience stores... they are propylene glycol based and have really one dimensional flavour. The American made, glycerin based Johnson Creek Red Oak smoke juice, specifically the Tennessee Cured flavour is amazing. You get your nicotine fix but not all of the other some 2000 chemicals that go with smoking or dipping. But that's academic ... I wanted to share an insight about smoking if you will allow.
One of the amazing things about people is that they sometimes don't realize what motivates them. Then you point it out to them and they say well I knew that all along, so what, and by the way who do you think you are? But I'm gonna give it a shot anyway. Here's the thing ...
Smoking is a breath meditation ... it's a way of being spiritual without acknowledging that your being spiritual. What do all those eastern mystic practices emphasize? Breathing. When you focus on your breathing you momentarily stop your mind from thinking and you look down and for the briefest of seconds start feeling. People experience it as a way to relax even though nicotine s a confirmed stimulant. Why? Because when you start feeling and stop thinking , THAT is a meditation ... you see people are spiritual beings whether they realize it or nor and smoking is just one example of that ... pretty wild huh?

That's true. I find it's not the smoking as much as the meditative quality or 'stepping outside and just breathing' that keeps me smoking. I hope one day I can fulfill that without smoke, though.
