Nobody (except rich gringos) in Venezuela is worried. The people have fuel, they have plenty of local food, they have actual family and neighbors, and they don´t care if their cable doesn´t work. No one is running crazy for food.

CRAZY how this all started LITERALLY the day after I left Venezuela!!!!!!!

Having just returned from Venezuela, it certainly did not look to me like Venezuelans were starving in any way. They don't have caviar and champagne, and they do not waste to the extent that we North Americans do, but they are definitely not starving.

Over the last month, some basic foods such as margarine, corn flour, rice, sugar, and chicken have been hard to find in many parts of Venezuela. A report from Venezuela’s Central Bank for the month of December showed high levels of scarcity for 6 of the 33 basic goods that are measured, and moderate levels of scarcity for 9 others.

It is NOT bs . Just localized events, and not spread nationwide(yet). Shortage of certain key products is clearly evident in the latest months, all thanks to the incompetent "government".
