It is not uncommon for politicians to lie to get elected.
It is not uncommon for politicians to tell the people what
they want to hear - that shows that they actually do listen to the needs and greivances of the public, knowing fully well that they have absolutely no intention of following through with a single promise.

A Statesman on the other hand will tell you the hard truth about the way things are. He will tell you that we will need to join together and work hard to accomplish our goals
and that after the pain and hardship we will emerge a better nation.

But the people don't want to hear that. They want someone to tickle their hind quarters with smoke as they peer out on a rose colored fairy land. A land where all you have to do is hope - and all good things will come to you.

The people got what they asked for; a liar who has lied so long that he doesn't even know what the truth is. The lazy
and useless eaters are led by the pied-piper of lies.

How many "statesmen" have we had in our White House since George Washington and Thomas Jefferson? And please don't say Lincoln. He was one of biggest liars we've had until Barry O.
