Nova Scotia took a pretty good hit from the weekend storms too.

NOVA SCOTIANS were still digging out and assessing the damage Sunday from a major winter storm that brought hurricane-force winds and storm surges in some areas.

High winds battered parts of southwestern Nova Scotia, damaging wharfs and buildings.

Environment Canada received reports that winds reached 164 kilometres an hour in Woods Harbour, Shelburne County.

“You’re well into the Category 2, almost Category 3-range hurricane-force wind gusts,” meteorologist Jeremy March said Sunday.
