I appreciate that, it really is quite shocking at how many people don't even realize this stuff. When you look into it though it makes complete sense. People truly do have more control over their lives than they think.

Re: Confidence, the key to life
Dude it's way more than simple confidence lolol. It's more about Knowledge. If you have knowledge then you can be confident.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 7138989

I agree with that to an extent, but for example think about it like this. Say you are presenting knowledge to another person, if you do not portray that knowledge confidently then most likely those who listen will get much less than if you presented it with confidence. I mean look at Obama for instance, people worship the guy even though a lot of what he says is absolute BS. However he has mastered speaking with conviction and authority therefore what he says holds more clout. Even intelligent people fall for that stuff, if you come off as passive it often does not matter what you are saying because people are already passing judgement on your demeanor.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 33308831

Don't mistake the art of manipulation with confidence. Obama has mastered NLP and verbal manipulation. If he is ever forced "off script" he is easily rattled. You are young so probably have never experienced old-time tent and then tv evangelists. They are master manipulators but off script they are weak and immoral. Obama seems a modern social media version of tv evangelists.

A person with wisdom and discernment can see thru Obama easily. He is confident like a used car salesman who has sold some poor old lady a clunker but his confidence is only veneer.

And I will add, not just Obama but many current ceos, banksters and politicians who project confidence to the masses are actually naked to a person with wisdom and discernment.

Bible in book of proverbs tells young men to "get wisdom". A man with wisdom sees thru the veneer of confidence.

I think you are correct by your title, not sure of words, sure was a lot of em.

I am very confident the world is indeed full of morans, and I feel confident this is indeed the key to success. I believe P.T. Barnum said it best when he said "there is a sucker born every minute".

I agree with most of what you have said, very valid points. Obama definitely is a manipulator no doubt about it but to me at least he does seem to have a sense of confidence to him. Of course his confidence(like anyone)can be shaken at times but when he is speaking he generally takes complete command of his audience through conviction and authoritative speaking. I believe in general it takes a certain type of confidence just to be able to speak in front of millions of people. Just because his motives or agenda is not pure of heart doesn't mean that there aren't some areas of his life or self where he feels supremely confident. Thoughtful post though it really makes me think.

Nothing built on a lie sustains success. As you said Obama is a manipulator. His life is a lie. Obama is a puppet, a stage actor. He may be confident in his stage presence, his ability to play a role, but he has no foundational confidence. Can a con man be considered a success? Only in a limited sense. Only a shallow person sees Obama as a man of foundational confidence.

Re: Confidence, the key to life
Dead giveaway as someone not to trust and an absolute phony.

Doesn't work on me.

Con = Deprive of by deceit
Confide = Confer a trust upon

The suffixes "ance" and "ence" turn words into nouns that refer to the act of or state of being or the quality of being for a person, place, or thing. For example:

Trusting a deceiver is how to decipher it.
Corp/o/Ration

Re: Confidence, the key to life
Or having mastered your 3rd chakra most probably. Your chakras. Knowing how to balance them but the third is supposed to be quite important as it has to do with willpower. It's also connected with diet.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 7138989

3rd from top or 3rd from bottom?

There are layers to confidence, and quite appropriately, it is stemmed in all the chakras.

3rd from bottom - solar plexus - is at first glance the most appropriate association and where most would develop their own fulfilling form of confidence.

3rd from top, interesting enough, could be key for many. There is self-confidence of the introvert and then there is the self-confidence of one who is secure in all of her or his dealings. The latter would be ingrained in one's view of truth and the manner in which she or he communicates that truth to others.

The power of knowledge in OP's post is manifest through her or his throat. Over-active, and the message becomes too zealous, too extremist and falls into the fringe. Under-active, and the message is that of a naive child.

One can know self-confidence through the solar plexus and still fall flat when trying to teach, share, or otherwise use that confidence in communication with others.
