I've been taking Chlorella, Spirulina, Iodine from Kelp since 3/11/11 to help mitigate the potential for disaster in my body. I'm in the PNW so I was not messing around.

The "pancake style" Geiger counter will register about three times higher CPM.
CPM is counts per minute.
How many times in a minute a "nuclear explosion" happens on the device that is counting. The "pancake style" has a surface area that is about three times larger than the "regular" style.

Geiger counter differ in other ways, as well.
Some read alpha, beat and gamma, others only beta and gamma, and some read only gamma.
From my understanding, Radiation Network sells geiger counter. two types.
"Regular" (RadAlert 100) and "pancake style" (RadAlert Inspector)
Both of these units read alpha, beta and gamma.

We have a RadAlert100 (more than one) that we use for testing the elimination of radioactive contamination. We used to be connected to the Radiation Network. However, since we test radioactive elements that are upwards of 10,000 CPM, we didn't want to risk forgetting to disconnect from the network while doing a reading on the radioactive elements. That would really freak people out.

A piece of paper (or your skin) will block alpha. However, eating snow that is full of alpha is not a good idea. And, it is unknown if the alpha will damage your skin (that is being used to protect your body).

If the pancake style Geiger counter in Minnesota was consistently lower (say around 50 to 60 CPM, or less) then had this rise and maintained higher level, it is indicative of a radioactive cloud passing through.

The ONGOING nuclear disaster in Japan has blown enough contamination into the atmosphere to kill everything on Earth. As slow, painful death. Mutations, cancers, auto immune system diseases, rapid advancement of heart disease, etc. It will NEVER be acknowledged as radiation poisoning. Every time is snows or rains, the contamination in the atmosphere will affect life. And then, there is the contamination in the Pacific Ocean.

We decided to change this reality.

I'd say that's pretty damn related.

Even with modern industrial air pollution, eating snow has never reached the point of being outright dangerous. Certainly not enough for public warnings on the news.

I think they know perfectly well that the snow is radioactive, or at least whoever told them to issue the warning did.

Just getting my 'crochities' up from being house bound, at 85 ! I really feel badly for all the children who will be suffering from this continuous radiation FIRST, and get angry with parents/people who do nothing to better the situation for themselves or family. My own daughter listens and does nothing for my grandchildren; but they are the " I don't see' feel it or taste it, so how bad can it be ?"
