Abandoned Public School
This is the former Bowmanville Senior Public School. It originally started as a high school when it opened in 1921 transitioning to only grade 7 and 8 during its last 30 years before closing in June of 2007.


Abandoned school, ghost town of Sumner, Oklahoma
Built in 1921, it was one of the first consolidated schools in Oklahoma and the first in Noble county. The original brick structure was built in 1920-21 and included a partial basement. A sand stone gymnasium was added in 1940, built by the WPA. The center section linking the two was built in 1945 and added to in 1954, which included the kitchen/cafeteria. The school was listed in the national historic register on April 26th, 1996.

When something considered a failure is clearly due to leftists and their policies, the issues are "complex". When the failure is considered to be on the part of Republicans, the blame goes to "Republicans."

But you know what? The left OWNS this (and California, and Washington DC, and Illinois). Detroit elected a series of liberal mayors and other officials since the 1960's. Not ONE of these people made changes that weren't destructive in some way. And this is the end result. It proves you can't create prosperity with more government and more confiscation of wealth. Proves it.

Ask yourself this: why is it that states and municipalities led by conservatives prosper economically? Texas, North Dakota, Louisiana, San Diego (probably the ONLY California city that isn't failing) just to name a few. Are the issues "complex"? Nope. They're very simple: the engines of their economies, businesses and the people, keep more of their money.

I'm wondering how much copper pipe and electrical wiring has been taken out of all those buildings.

I would say a lot.

There are two completed tunnels that are in the middle of nowhere up Shoemaker canyon. In the 1960's there was an effort to push through this canyon to the other side but the road itself was never completed.

Those places are as mysteriously attracting as they are telling when it comes to the downfall of what could have been the greatest nation on earth. America is today's Egypt or Rome.

Look at Michigan Central Station then and now, for me it stands for everything that went wrong in this country. I first came to the USA when I was 23, to TSA, still an intact working class. Now I'm 56 and the last time I've been to the US all I could say was boy how times have changed.

Americans are lucky though to have a big country with enough space and beautiful nature. In Europe there is simply not enough room for so many and so huge abandoned places.
