I think it's already started.

Not sure of the date exactly, but I'm still convinced you will know it is very close, within days to weeks, after gold enters permanent backwardation.

At that point the dollar will collapse, and the existing bills of credit system in the western world at least (China has plans to implement trading agreements with Asian block countries in the yuan) will disintegrate.

Germany's request to get their gold back was a front I think for the fed, they put it out there for 7 years but that timetable might get moved up.

Definitely some "major" event will happen towards the end of the current administration (2015-16) just like when Bush was exiting in 2008.

Here is how we know it already has.

Power consolidated in executive branch.
One illegal poser accepted by the media, black people,
the military, and alphabet agencies as president.

100% corrupt judiciary.

99% flaccid Congress.

No criminal investigation for 9/11.
Elections obviously completely fraudulent.
Militarization of police forces.

While TPTB build their forces, (TSA, DHS, etc)
stock their resources and supply lines,
retrain the entire military in control of an armed
hostile civilian population,

American civilians shop with less and less money,
eat with more and more on food cards, (soup lines)
lose more and more property to foreclosure,
survielled illegally more and more closely with new
technologies (smart meters, RFID, cell phones)
and pursue circus with more and more fervor.

More and more money flies into the coffers of TPTB
from sales of auto fuel. It's $billions per day,
because $1 per gallon is theirs.

Americans are losing the war being waged against them,
and they don't even know they are in it.

What to do?
States will have no options soon but to secede,
organize armies and fight. If state leaders are not
on board with that, they'll be mobbed and replaced
with those who are, very soon.

Is that TSHTF?
Before the end of 2013, if Obama is not removed.

What does time matter?

I don't think it is really legal to say anywhere. Be very careful what you say over the internet. THEY can very easily find you.

The state of technology opens the possibility for the first time to control the entire world from a power center. During this time, in the West ease and laziness, prosperity and luxury are paramount, while the East prepares itself, raises its peoples to the great task, provides for a new generation of weapons. After the laws of the classic military strategy, the Russians must strengthen their flanks, before they prepare to attack against Western Europe.

The southern flank is comprised by Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Turkey, Greece, and Yugoslavia. The northern flank is comprised by Finland, Sweden, Norway, and Denmark. Up to the Bavarian boundary, a Russian expanse trace train is brought up.

In summer, probably in the month of July if the OIL REGIONS (Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Persian Gulf) are already in rather firm Russian hands, will occur the invasion by Russia upon (parts of) the south and north flanks: against Turkey, Greece, Yugoslavia, and Scandinavia.

By the end of July, Russian anger will quickly shift against Western Europe. The first front of Western resistance is destroyed at the beginning of August. Armies of Russian tanks invade France, around Lyon, and little later in Ulm. Russian elite units attack Alaska in middle August. In Europe, it comes to the proximity of a radioactively radiating yellow wall. Prague becomes a nuclear wasteland. Approximately around the same time the Russian tank units of the northern wedge in Westfalen become almost entirely destroyed.

The Russians are pressed in Western Europe into a defense. Out of revenge, a nuclear retaliation against all cities of the USA results. Simultaneously the USA strikes back with nuclear weapons. Far parts of the (former) Soviet Union and the last Russian rocket silos are destroyed. As a consequence of this event, it comes in the former Soviet Union a Mega-Revolution, that overthrows the previous system. In September, there is a last despairing attempt of Russian submarine-units to devastate Europe by nuclear means. In this attack, many French and German cities are changed into a fiery sea.

Returning to the start of this discourse: after the quick occupation of all military bases in Scandinavia, a second attack against Turkey follows. There and in Iran a great tank battle takes place. The Russian then strives to advance as quickly as possible through the Balkan Peninsula to the Adriatic Sea.

The strategy against Western Europe will be an attack through three powerful advance wedges. The first comes from Stettin-Berlin region into Lübeck, Hamburg, and into the Netherlands, the second out of the Saxon and Dresden regions into the Ruhr Valley. The third advance wedge will strive after out of Bohemia and Bavaria and to the Rhine River. An unimaginable mass of tanks roll by at the mountain chains of Switzerland and down after Lyon.

NATO troops are crowded into a few defense areas. Most zones belong to the red army a long time overcome and occupied. The defense areas are named: Ruhr Valley and Netherlands, Bavaria, the Alps and Switzerland, as well as the Rhone region. Moreover there will be defense areas in Italian waters and in Turkey.

The attack of the red army in Europe is broken and struck down more yet, the Russian army destroyed. The Russian losses to its army columns alone will be seven million persons; difficult to believe such a high demand of blood for a people that had fallen away in measure from dialectic materialism, for a second time.

The Catholic faith has a decisive task in this last battle against the reactionary countries of the former Soviet Union. First, near the end of this comparatively short war, comes the duel with nuclear weapons. And finally follows the total nuclear war. Its devastating effects are beyond description. Huge metropolises become robbers of the farmer! Armed volumes of people roam through the country, fanatics, murderers, Psychopaths, a Mob. It is as never before, except perhaps in the Thirty Years War, existence is frightening. And all this accompanied by the poison cloud that in the end extinguishes one-third of all humanity!

The OP asks THE question on most of our minds because anyone with discernment knows that it's just a matter of when, not if, the SHTF.

Sadly, I'm starting to think we have a lot longer to go before the progressively bad gets better.

As a believer in the Word of God(YHVH), Yeshua, I've begun to see that perhaps the time of Jacob's trouble may just be beginning. And if it's true that God declares the end from the beginning, than we'll have a period of 20 years before Yeshua returns, give or take.

It is my hope that we've already long since entered that 20 year period(perhaps 9/11 or the Israeli/Palestine land agreements from the 90's?). There does seem to be signs, however, that this spring(3/22) might very well kick off the time of Jacob's trouble, spoken of by the prophets and Yeshua Himself.

There is war doom, and economic doom, and environmental doom, and asteroid doom. There is man-made doom and natural doom.

Question........What is your view on tithing. I had it shoved down my throat for 20 years before I realized it was nothing more than a big fundraiser for the church. Which I am ok with. But what makes me sick is the promises of bigger houses and rainbows and butterflies if you give.

Sounds like you might be going to the wrong church! But know also, your responsibility to to give your tithes and offerings and God will honor your heart in that matter! If your pastor and leaders are abusing those tithes and offerings...they will answer for it!

While TPTB want all hell to break loose and TSHTF, I have to say that I believe they will be greatly disappointed. There is good in this world, it is everywhere, and there will be peace. The evil will wash away with the rain, and we will witness a new day where we can breathe the free air once again.

This seems to be a likely scenario, a slow moving natural disaster. No rain, food prices, and a crashing dollar, Uncle Sam has a solution.
