Come on LDS... Tell the truth.. If you're so sure of yourself- be truthful.
I truly wish Mormons would just come out & be honest about what they believe. If Mormons are so sure that their religion is true, than why all the secrets? I stumbled upon this subject & realized that it's just another story that the LDS tell. The reason for the food storage is because they are to save as much as they can, because they believe that Jesus is going to come back to Missouri (which is where they believe the Garden of Eden was) & that they will begin anew there with Jesus. Mind you that the Bible teaches us of the Rapture- nothing of this. So, they're stock piling the food in order to be ready for this relocation. It's on magnets on their refridgerators. They also are to have their gas tanks full- usually a fill-up twice a month to be prepared to go @ any time. My family is Mormon & this has never been a secret. Yea- ideas of self-sufficiency may come into play, but the real reason is what I have explained. Why don't they not want to come out & say this? If they were to tell you this belief, it would be yet another major proof that their religion defys the true Word of God which is that we will Rapture. You learn the secrets once you're in too deep to get out. Trust me- my family has a basement as big as their house full of supply. They tell so many stories to cover up their truths. It's right up there with their secret handshakes to get them into Heaven.

If you really want to know and not just starting SHIT call and the missionaries over they are available world wide.

If you're starting shit: why do they need to tell you anything?

My sister became an LDS in her mid 20's.
She's the only Mormon in our extended family and entire family tree.
She always got straight A's and was the kiss ass of the class. You know, smart ... book smart.

She is deluded and cannot hear truth.

Someday I hope to know what the hell happened to her to be like that.
