I have thought about this and the only thing I have come to mind is that the modern music represents the modern corruption.
The world creates what the world deserves. The world no longer deserves meaningful artistic expression to praise God and that is why it is fairly absent in the modern thing called the church.

I do not think the spirit has totally left creation yet as one can still commune with God in nature where the nature hasn't been totally corrupted.

The church as a whole seems devoid of spirit to me, the people gossip and join cliques, the spirit of rejection is common place. Maybe now as I am older do I recognize it as a child I did not... but I do think it is prevalent to a higher extent than before.

When is the last time you have seen someone holding a door open for an elder? Taking time out to talk to someone who is lonely, carry groceries for someone, help someone in need?
Not to common.

Now you just tithe and the money supposedly goes to Africa, Haiti and never your own backyard where you might have to get your own hands dirty.
Instead it is taken out of your hands, sanitized.
I often wonder if Jesus today walked into a church would the fervent zombies reject him?

I haven't opened my bible after I noticed it was printed in a factory, it has a Trade-Mark.
Who knows who in time before has altered the original text to benefit a specific political or social idea?

Compassion, I have some for those around me, just not so much sending a check to a foreign land. How am I supposed to know where it winds up?
If my spirit is not moved by repetitive lyrics on a movie screen I cannot delude myself into saying it is because I have no faith.
Neither does the cookie cutter junk on the radio move me, it is nothing but suggestive noise anymore.

I believe in God but I also know praying *extra* hard won't change outcomes, nor having absolute faith.
Free will is giving to us for a reason and it takes will and discernment to use it properly. Maybe this is what was meant by God helps those who help themselves *and others*.
