Signals travel the nerves at the speed of electricity/light so most of the 1/10th must be brain processing speed. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 34100289 Just shy of 1/10th of a second. That is not the same thing as thought. That is measuring reaction. "The person who is in love with their vision of community will destroy community. But the person who loves the people around them will create community everywhere they go." ~ Dietrich Bonhoeffer "Doubt is not a pleasant condition but certainty is absurd" ~ Voltaire "The World is my country, all mankind are my brethren, and to do good is my religion." ~ Thomas Paine On Twitter @Iconoclastics |

"The world will soon wake up to the reality that everyone is broke and can collect nothing from the bankrupt, who are owed unlimited amounts by the insolvent, who are attempting to make late payments on a bank holiday in the wrong country, with an unacceptable currency, against defaulted collateral, of which nobody is sure who holds title." |

Quoting: Iconoclastics It just occurred to me that if what they say about the alleged pilots of these UFOs using their minds to control the craft is true, well this would fit nicely with explaining how they can traverse a universe separated by billions if not trillions of light years. Faster than light travel just might be possible after all. It might simply be a matter of thought. Everything is inside your head and yes the fastest thing in the universe is thought. |

Although it suggests that thought is in fact not instantaneous it still seems to only pertain to our reaction to stimuli and not thought in and of itself. I wonder if there is a quantum dimension to pure thought which, because of our limited technology and measuring ability, prevents a definitive answer to this question.
