Officials from We Energies were trying to figure out the cause of the explosion. "It obliterated the asphalt." Asphalt chunks littered the street where pavement was heaved up like it had been punched from underneath.

I read that it was caused by a damaged power line igniting a nearby gas line. Is there new info?

This seems to be happening so much more often, I don't buy the cable, gas line stuff. These types of explosions keep happening. Does anyone know what could be causing this?

yep

the mantle underpinning the crust of the entire USA and Canada has sunk, pulled away towards the centre of the earth, by up to 300 feet

[link to www.bbc.co.uk]

the crust, being cold, hard and brittle is resisting, for now, but eventually it MUST follow the mantle, and it is doing so, slowly, very slowly.

Utility pipes though are staying exactly where they were put, so there's a problem. As the crust slowly (for now) bends down, trying to reach the mantle, the forces being placed on the utility pipes are immense, and they give, understandably really

this theory ALSO explains the multitude of sinkholes on your continent
