Sorry but I'm not buying the "I'm old and can't do the job anymore" bullshit. I was at the New Years Day mass with the Pope last month at the Vatican and he did look old and frail (they wheeled him in on this thing that looked like a decked out Segway and his voice was shaky during mass) but ALL Popes have been old when they have been elected Pope since that's just the way it is and nobody has resigned for being old or for any other reason since the 1400s! It was a hell of a lot harder to be "old" in the last 600 years than it is to be "old" in 2013. There has got to be more to the story. I'm waiting for it to come out.

Also, the Vatican was not taking credit cards this time I was there which I thought was odd. I wonder if that is tied in to his decision to quit?
