Cardinal Marc Ouellet has a brother a few years younger named Paul Ouellet, who pleaded guilty to sexual assault against two minors, age 13 and 15 at the time,

Quebec police investigated Paul Ouellet for 4 years before laying charges in 2008. The assaults occurred midd-1980's to early 1990's, apparently.

When he pleaded guilty, other charges against him involving additional minors were dropped as part of the deal.

He received a slap on the wrist - no prison time, just a "community sentence of 15 months.

Notoriously, Paul Ouellet placed a newspaper ad in Quebec, to explain his side of things.

He claimed his only mistake was succumbing to 'advances' made by his two young victims.

Paul Ouellet is a former teacher and popular in the Quebec arts community as a painter.

A leading Quebec criminal lawyer, Robert La Haye, commented about the newspaper advertisement that "he has never heard of any convicted sex offender go to such lengths, and the move suggests a lack of empathy and compassion for his victims;" adding: " 'Most people won't find any excuses in his explanation'."

Conclusion:

Cardinal Mark Ouellet, once Primate of Canada, and now serving in high office in the Vatican, HAS NEVER COMMENTED ON HIS BROTHER'S CASE.

This silence makes him unfit to be elected Pope by the College of Cardinals.

He should have spoken out while Cardinal of Quebec, expressing the repugnance which the whole world now feels towards pedophilia... unless they are perverts themselves.
