yea i was thinking the master cylinder. not sure though if that would cause all four wheels to seize up. Which was the problem in the first place before the brakes where changed. Thanks for the response

I don't see how it could be anything but the master cylinder.

Just has to be.

I would say your master cylinder is malfunctioning.

I'm fairly sure it isn't the booster as brakes will still work (not as well though) even if the diaphram is busted.

There is a hose running to the booster. Run the car for a few minutes. Then remove the hose. If a sucking sound is very noticable then the booster is good.

Maybe you need a brake flush? I lost my brakes a few weeks back while going downhill @ 45mph in a 2001 Grand Am GT and needed new brake lines because they had rusted out and they also did a complete brake flush as well.

If you have never done one before have a garage do it, after all it is your brake system and if something goes wrong (your brakes fail) the garage will get sued and not you.

There is a plastic tube running from the vacuum pump to the brake booster that typically cracks. Brake boosters rarely fail, but if they do. it means the brake fluid has been neglected and never changed. Diesels do not make their own vacuum, so there is a pump on the end of the camshaft.

I really dont want to change the booster if its not needed, I was also thinking would an air lock cause all the brakes to sieze. Front and back. Matbe a flush first to see if that makes any difference, ive been doing the pump bleed with another person for ages and nothing come through, surley the fluid would come through eventually

Fill it full of new fluid, open bleeders, put stick between brake pedal and seat, wait. Old fluid colects water and water wont compress as easily as fluid. Its hard on the booster and pump because they are working harder to compress water in the lines.
