I remember the original TV series. We had to wait a whole week to see part 2 every time they had an episode that couldn't be stuffed into a half hour. Black and white TV, but we all loved that Batmobile.

Yeah, the old skool batmobile was awesome.

It was a modified Lincoln futura, they had like 5 of them.

The one you see in the intro to the show could only go at about 5 miles per hour so they sped up the footage to make it look faster.

I recently got myself a pretty sweet model of it actually, there's a new range from Eaglemoss who do a lot of comic book stuff like that.

This is great, when I talk about Batman in Russ's threads I get the feeling he'd rather I didn't.

Pies!! Might I suggest some pork pies.

My favorite part was the fight scenes where they'd show all those "POW!" balloons. Never understood why Batman had to wear trunks but Robin got the speedo.

Yes, the Return of the King... with today's big "pope-porri" it's been at the forefront of my mind. I read the other thread about the ex-atheist and thought, "Maybe that's the last one, and we can go now!" It sure looks to me like the ship is stocked, manned, and ready to sail.

I figure it was because Adam West didn't have the legs for it.

If you look carefully when they run to the batpoles, you'll see that Bruce's pole is actually thicker than Dick's.

I always used to wonder why my parents would snicker and mutter about Freud when it was on TV.

Could be. Actually, I think I read somewhere that it was because Bruce was the grown-up and showing too much would have been improper. Gosh, we've "slid down the pole" since then, haven't we?

So has Batman, Dick Grayson is all grown up and is his own man now (Nightwing) and actually spent 2 years being Batman when Bruce was missing presumed dead (actually lost in time), Bruce Wayne has a son (Damian), there have been like 5 different Robins, one of them actually died and came back as a villain.

We get the Batman for the times we live in I always think.
Back then in the swinging 60s, we got a trippy swinging Batman.

A little more innocent, a little more naive.
Now in these darker times we have a darker knight.

Batman is a reflection of society, our modern mythology.

Yeah, well, I think I'm gonna nick this thread and make it my own and stash it under the stairs with my Pot Noodles.
