Corporate news says "pope shocked the world" yet I'm not shocked, hardly care, and either does anyone else. | |

Corporate news are really disconnected from reality there is something weird about it. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 16972631 I have never invested any energy into the pope. I consider the pope if anything, an obstruction to my very wellbeing. Hence the figurehead of what the pope stood for, to me was based on a fraud. Hence the entire institution has being an enemy to me. An enemy that hoards wealth and spiritual authority like a parasitic host on a society that is sinful. It really makes very little difference to me if the pope decides to step down or not. I think it's great that he is stepping down, and I prefer if it was possible to not have another one, but I know they will be eager to replace him. The control machine must continue in their eyes. I just can't fathom what is so shocking or surprising about the fact that he feels to old to do his job anymore. He was pretty old..... Try and get someone younger next time. In full agreement. At the core I believe that not many truly do care. Yet most revel in faux news, they are programmed to. The glorification of any repressive institution flaunting its wealth and status should be received as an insult yet most blindly covet it. |

What the internet makes really evident is that corporate news is far from mainstream and I would even argue it's a serious minority. Yet they try and depict it as the opposite in the way they speak it and produce it. As an experiment do what I did. Go to every corporate news channel that has a youtube account, and look at their views on youtube. When they post their stories I have seen as little as 200 views on a video. That to them is a "major story" point. What they are calling the alternative media, is actually what is mainstream! If you go according to the viewership statistics. |

CNN this and that on every software, it's advertisement is everywhere. It's like trying to push a boulder up a hill. No-one wants to watch it. But you it's proliferation is everywhere! After all that marketing...And you get 39 views on youtube when you post a story? You can have all the money in the world to push your agenda. But you can't kill an idea. And the idea is, CNN and other corporate news is just not credible enough. |

So, does that mean you don't want to sign the card going around for his big retirement party? Quoting: Hellena Handbasket I'm sure the party will be artificially huge, and contain people well invested in it, and it really depends how much they pay me to go. It's not like we would go there for fun is it? |

It's not like we would go there for fun is it? Those types of parties are always a drag. Ya know? Guy sits around tellin' stories about the old days when the bird poo'd on his fanciest cape or when he got blasted on wine and crackers. I'll pass. |

The time he tied his own shoe lace, or changed his own nappy discreetly. "where were your carers at that time" "oh you wouldn't believe it, they were too busy in a debate about a new public opinion stance before they had time to notice I had put on my own slippers." *roars of laughter* "whatever will happen next" "resignation" *roars of laughter again* Yep, that's the after party. I can see in now. Meanwhile in the back alleys of the mansion is discussion of the latest suppression techniques against enemies (public) of the state. And who to take out next. |

In the news stories they say the cardinals didn't know what Benedict was saying while he addressed them with his resignation. I'm thinking the cardinals may be too old and out of it to fulfill their cardinal-shipping or whatever they do, too. Take 'em all out. |

Yah. And then, its 7:30pm and he's nodding off so his keepers gotta put him in beddy bye. Next day, he wakes up in his soggy nappy and he realizes that its all over. They dress him in a donated set of turquoise jogging warm ups and he gets wheeled off to the old folks home with the unholy smells. Its rough, but thats how it goes. |

Never any context for anything they offer, no historical lead up, no speculation on the future effects down the road. Just this entirely restricted mentioning of this and that. When the last pope died I remember someone I know, a lapsed Catholic, saying, "You can't help but be moved, no matter what your belief" and I thought, I never felt more Protestant than when he said that, I was like, look, I don't think of myself as a Protestant much, ever, but if I had to, i would say, no, I'm not moved, we think there's not even supposed to BE a pope, we think it's evil, this of course from my grandparent's point of view, not like we were a religious family, far from it, it's just cultural but it's there. I wouldn't bother thinking or saying "fuck the pope" but if I was pressed . . . . if someone pushed me . . . it's there. |

These people are so vain. Like how dare they suggest that no matter what I believe, I must be moved emotionally at their idol. I would like to line them up and strangle them, and then say to everyone you can't help but be moved, no matter what your belief, as I watch them choke. harsh? yes lol. But I've had enough of these types of actors, they can get their ass out of here. |
